Alright Taco geniuses, I want some more noise out the truck.
its an 08 4.0V6, have a flowmaster 40 series and AFE Pro dry S CAI.
I'm getting bored with how she sits now and don't really feel like doing a "healthy" lift right now. Anything a couple hundred buck could do to make some more noise? TIA

When I bought my truck it had a K&N intake on it and I hated it. It rattled and the filter would fall off. Just swapped that out for a AFE sealed intake with the dry filter I like it a lot more it sounds good, not as loud as the open K&N and it doesn't rattle so no rattle sounds better too. So I would reccomend the AFE sealed intake if you are looking for something to make the truck louder under acceleration.

Also the URD intake I've heard is pretty loud, if you want a louder exhaust, look at the flowmaster 10 series. And it's just a paper weight (adds no gains of any kinds) but a throttle body spacer I've heard gives a whistling noise. All depends on what kind of sound you want.

A little lift & some extra steel....
I threw my Flowmaster in the trash & run with no muffler......with a turndown in front of the rear axle. With the 2 cats it's still quiet until full throttle.

Didn't wanna get the :crapstorm: for mentioning A muffler delete but I completely agree, not loud at all running no muffler with all cats. It'll definitely get attention and doesn't sound bad at all IMO. You could do what I'm about to do tomorrow probably and run test pipes for the muffler.

i'd like to go headers, but i dont want to put that much into the exhaust... In all honesty, i'd probably be leaning to chopping off the flowmaster and letting her go. I'm going for the rasp/deep sound which i know isnt easy being a 6. But, im playing the cards i have. Yall think just cut the 40 series off to get some more rumble?
