Gotta love test mules. The bed needs to be more proportional to the cab. Visibility out front & side windows looks similar to a new Camaro. For goodness sake. American humans are getting taller with each generation. This is my one pet peeve regarding the Taco. I'm 6' and have to hunch over the wheel to see traffic lights. I don't want a full-size truck but I might have to get another one for the sake of my back.

I don't think it is the bed that is high but rather the front that is low. Look at the gap from the top of tire to bottom of fender at the front end compared to the rear. Also, cover the front end of the picture above with your hand and look at only the bed portion, it looks like a decent truck back end. Now cover the bed portion of that same picture with your hand and only look at the cab going forward. That thing looks like it could be the front end to anything from a minivan, to a small crossover SUV, to a tall sedan.

Keep in mind that this is a stock vehicle, gov't lease in another part of the world. Hopefully, they do it some justice when the Raptor version hits the street.

With the way things are going with overall size, you might be better off going to a full-size, anyways. I mean, what is the total difference here? Dimension-wise, a few inches of headroom up top and maybe 6 inches of length? A few inches of track width? Engine (full-size wins), towing capacity (full-size, again), mpg (Ranger would win, but only barely)? I bet the price will be pretty close. Unless they go back to the original Ranger's dimensions and make it 5-10k cheaper than a comparable F-150, no one is going to pick the Ranger.

Seriously, there is barely a difference between a midsize and fullsize anymore. The last truly midsize truck is the 2004 Tacoma.

RIP compact trucks. I loved the size of my '01.

Yeah the front end of this one looks more like a car, but you can probably see over the hood like a 1st gen Taco. 2nd & 3rd gen is Form>Function in that regard.

I hope it's actually a good contender. Some more competition to push the Taco engineers!!

I saw a number of the rangers in Vietnam, and a lot of hilux's in Peru. Honestly they are both really curvy designs that look feminine. Neither look as good as the US Tacoma, gen 2 or 3 in my opinion. They just don't look tough... similar to a ridge line.

I would like the diesels, however.
