MORE Twin ARB + 1 Gallon Tank Bracket Install Overview and Impressions

I’ll try to grab photos in a bit of my install!

 

Hopefully I’m just an idiot. Maybe I’ll look more tomorrow but it was rubbing my AC line

 

Sorry for the late turn around, I took the photos last night but didn’t get back to the forum.


This is just an overview shot.


Here, you can see that horn/speaker looking thing over to the left side of the photo, just below the arm of the M.O.R.E. bracket that attaches to the right apron. If you look closely, I slightly bent that bracket towards the apron for clearance. It appears I didn’t bend it enough but I still have maybe a 16th of an inch clearance between the horn/speaker and the M.O.R.E. bracket even though the photo doesn’t show it.


The final photo shows the clearance from the A/C lines.

Let me know if this is what y’all were looking for or if you’d like additional photos. I’m on my paternity leave so I have time to take them; just might not be able to get back to the forum to post as quickly as I’d like!

 

So what am I doing wrong? You can see the rubber AC line is touching the bracket and I had to push it pretty hard to get the holes to align with the screws in the truck




is my ac line just that different? I’m debating taking a notch out the metal to give clearance to the hose. It’s about an inch I had to push it over

 

edit: it looks like you might have the bracket down too low, are you missing some spacers?

 

Spacers? The install instructions mention nothing of spacers and I got none just washers.

and the hose is like 2”+ from the bottom of the bracket so not sure how that would help

 

Just comparing your pic to the finished install above, your bracket looks lower and more towards the front of the truck.

 

No spacers with the bracket. You could just put some pressure to bend the a/c hose metal portions slightly towards the engine. That should alleviate the rubber portion from contacting the bracket. Comparing your photo to mine, my rubber hose is closer to the larger diameter aluminum hose above it. Probably just within the manufacturing tolerances.

 

Yea I think my hose is longer so it sticks out further. I would have to cut the vertical support so that it’s 1/2 the width to get this to work and then I wonder structural integrity. Might be ok but I think I’d rather go with another mount

 

Forgot to post these photos of my temporary coupling location/mount. Just zip-tied to the grille for now. Will reassess when I install my bumper, but works for now and the zip-ties hold it firmly in place when connecting and disconnecting.

 

If you’re located near north Denver I have my MORE bracket for sale. Will let you test fit it to guarantee fitment before you decide to buy. It didn’t fit my 21 so either the 21 is a special year or I just got an AC line that sticks out a bit further than normal. See my posts at the end of this thread. I wish it fit but sadly it just doesn’t for me. Your results may vary

 

Hi, I am actually in Houston, TX. Wish I live closer to you for a test fit + greet and meet.

So is a hit or missed with fitment. Their customer service still has not gotten back to me about fitment but your photos does prove a valid point. Thanks for your install photos.

 

Probably because I sent them all the photos and told them it doesn’t fit. They take returns for 30 days so might be easier to test it that way if you don’t let it sit uninstalled for months like I did

like i said you could cut a notch out of the right leg. The angle brace is on the opposite side so that’s where all the structure comes from. Probably would work just fine. I didn’t feel like getting the angle grinder out and start hacking at it. Probably should have instead of ordering another mount that’s taking forever. I have a single so I’d have to drill a hole anyways in the top. All doable things + touch up with a bit of paint. I still might do it since I could return the other mount and not have to deal with selling this one

 

Hey buddy, just shifted my ac line slightly towards the engine. Slowly bent the aluminum pipe ( those 4 red points) from both ends, it should clear the mounting bracket now.

Rubber hose have a small gap . Not touching upper line if u bent it away and under.

That is strange, I have a '21 Off Road and the MORE mount clears the AC line no problem. I guess if the rubber hose is slightly longer, it will kick it towards the passenger side. I agree that you can bend the AC line slightly to gain clearance if needed, just go easy. I wouldn't go the bracket trimming route if you can avoid it! As others have mentioned, I will need to bend the horn bracket a touch so the horn deal doesn't rub. I added a couple pics of my mock up so you can see the clearance.

 

Do what you want. I’m not bending my ac line and leaving a chance at kinking it. Got another mount and it’s installed. It didn’t fit either but I have no problem bending up the mount to make things work when they’re flat steel. Round hoses require a legitimate method of bending the hose in my book.
