I was actually looking at the Ranger and decided to go with the Taco because it's a Toyota. I had such bad luck with my current vehicle that I wanted something super reliable that I can easily put 150k+ miles on it. Granted, I liked the Ranger's pricing better (cheaper), but for a few thousand more I'd rather have the Toyota reliability.

That and I wanted an Army Green truck.

 

3rd gens are kinda girly trucks so makes sense

My wife drives my truck on rare occasion.

She really doesn’t like driving it, but she does find amusement in the reactions of some drivers- particularly other pickup drivers.

I have to agree with her, some people appear to be shocked or butthurt by the sight of a woman driving a pickup truck...lol

 

I’m from the South where Just like Pennsylvania and WVA. almost everyone drives a pickup outside of the cities lol.

 

Not to generalize too much, but if I had to make a guess the stronger the reaction, the more likelihood of a poseur behind the wheel...

 

Could be, a lot of good ol boys and girls actually use them as trucks, but I swear at work half the trucks look like they’ve never had a thing in the bed, or a bit of dirt ever lol.

 

If you go back and read Post #24 it's easier to understand, the JD Article is poorly written at best.

 

For sure. A total misunderstanding by the author of the JD Powers review.

I went to the actual JD Powers review which says:
“When compared to all midsize pickup truck owners, Toyota Tacoma owners aren’t dramatically different in terms of demographics and psychographics.
According to J.D. Power data, slightly more women report owning a Tacoma (16% vs. 15%)“
Meaning 84% of Tacoma buyers are men, a little higher than the 2017 article I linked to.

 

I know some do, but You’re definitely an outlier.

 

I just Googled Pink Tacomas / images. Guess that makes you famous.

 

If more women are buying Tacomas than men...I guess all women are buyers of Wranglers, I bet 80% of 4dr wrangler drivers I see are women....I can't remember the last time I saw a woman driving a tacoma.
