Well they certainly prefer the Tacoma due to the fact that they can get a manual transmission... :boink:

    It is true!

But what is up with this interesting tidbit?
"Only 27% of Tacoma owners have a college degree. Here the Tacoma is average with Ridgeline owners being most likely to have a degree at 32% and Frontier and Chevy Colorado owners coming in at 26% college educated."

The only Ford Ranger worth buying that is even remotely worth considering is the Diesel version of the Ranger!

My wife and I love the Tacoma. For 9 years I was the primary driver and she drove our Honda Fit. But we reached a point 4+ years ago where the Tacoma was just too small. But we liked it too much to let it go. Instead of trading it for a new full size I bought a 2 year old F150 Supercrew 4X4 and we kept both the Honda and Tacoma.

The Tacoma has become my wife's daily driver and it is perfect. She spends a lot of time in her garden and does a bunch of craft projects. Now she has her own truck and I don't have to constantly pick up stuff for her. Since she started driving the Tacoma 2 other women in our neighborhood have decided a Tacoma is perfect for them as well.

Of course none of their husbands drive Rangers. In addition to my F150 the other husbands drive a diesel 3/4 ton 4X4 Chevy and the other husband drives a new 4X4 F250 with the 7.3 gas engine. My wife actually suggested trading my F150 for a F250 with the 7.3. That may happen in another year.

For now I tend to drive the Honda around town and even for shorter trips of an hour or less. This is saving miles and wear on the bigger truck which gets used when I need it; or for longer trips where the comfort is a huge plus. I'm secure enough in my masculinity to do so.

Had one as a company issued vehicle for overseas. I hated that truck. In fact that is the single most loathed vehicle that I have ever had the mispleasure of riding in.

Mainly because it smelled like mildew and human ass (not the trucks fault), we could never get it to run correctly after thieves stole the engine harness (also not the trucks fault), and even before that happened it wasn't super reliable. (Possibly not the trucks fault.)

Thank goodness it died at a very young age with less than 120,000 km on the clock.

I can still recall the 2018 or 2019 Tacoma commercial with the young lady driving a TRD Pro and flexing on all the lesser trim Tacomas driven by men.

I was looking at a Super Crew Lariat because of the price and options, but I'd want to replace the chrome bumpers and trim with the black off of the base Ranger and mount some OEM Bronco wheels when they can be purchased among other things. Then I saw a nice Tundra on a Toytec lift today.

It was a very ...unique experience and I'm grateful for the memories to be honest. I have multiple albums filled with pictures that remind me of the adventure and I will always cherish that. And also there are a few memories that I would rather forget. But such is life.

and that was in 09. How did it even make it to 21 pages? Props to the 2nd gens for that treasure. May it serve as Friday inspiration to others.

Seems funny how a thread based on one of the 2 most important subjects in the world for men. Boobs and Trucks.
That got 21 pages in a couple of months has not been revived once in 11 years.

Says it's closed. Guess that why. What a shame. :( No better quality reading on TW.
