Morel Tempo Ultra 6x9 Component sets

I sent Morel an email asking them to verify the serial number if they can. We will see. These were purchased through Dynamic Autosound, theyre an authorized dealer. If theyre fake shouldnt be a problem to send them back.

What are your EQ settings on your kenwood headunit? Super interested in your setup.

 

I actually switched speakers and my eq is flat. Sounds amazing. Using hertz hsk165xl with the ht28 tweeters running active off the head unit. Turned all the gimmicky settings on the kenwood off.These tweeters are night and day from the morels. Probably due to the stock dash locations I could never get the morels to sound clean. Had to do so much eq work it made the music flat when I got the ear piercing highs toned down. I had a set of these hertz in my nissan running 400+ to the miids for 2 years and they handle it no problem if you know what you're doing with the gain

 

I have contacted both Morel and the seller and included pics. We'll see what they have to say.

 

Casey from Morel emailed me back saying the speakers were genuine Morel, but that they did look funny. They will be taking care of me in the near future. Excellent customer service.

The price of getting a new set

They had you destroy the old set so they could send you a new set?

How much room do you think is behind the 6x9 Ultras, could you fit another 1/4"? and how close were they to the front of the door card, was there a concern with the woofer/rubber surround touching?

 

no. I don't think you could do it. You could probably get more room out of the door card by dremeling the inside of the speaker cover of the card, but not much.....

 

Hoping I could get some assistance here. Long story short, I had a local audio shop install the Morel Tempo Ultra 692s in my truck this week. They are running on an Arc Audio x2 450.4 amp. I have them running on the passive crossovers as well. The shop configured the amp to run 4 channel stereo high pass. They also told me the kept the gain on the low side. Their explanation was that it was to help break in the speakers. I had a sub installed as well, however it sounds decent. Due to the sub filling in most of the lows I was unaware that the result of the amp tuning (my assumption) is that I have absolutely no mids/bass from the component woofers. I'm nervous to try to tweak anything on the amp as I have very little experience with car audio. Another thing of note is that I have an access cab with the crappy headliner speakers that I pointed out to the install tech prior to installation and yet they still ran those to the rear channel inputs on the amp. I intend on reaching back out to the shop but work is consuming most my time right now. My thought is to switch the front channel from 'high' to 'full' and let the passive crossover do its job. I just don't want to make any expensive mistakes.

Thought I'd post here to see how you guys are/were running your amps to power these things.

 

Don’t touch the gain. I would hope they gave it back to you with that set. If you’re unsure how to tune that, take it back.

As well, leave the High Pass Filter on. That will prevent any frequencies that the sub should play from going to speakers that shouldn’t try.

What you can check is the Filter Frequency. Would probably be set to 80Hz. If it’s too high, that would show up with what you’re describing. Don’t set it below 80Hz, to protect the Morels’.

Did the shop say what type brackets they used to make these fit in the doors? Do you know if they cut the door card any at all

 

Just the standard metra 6x9 bracket. Can't say for sure about the door card, but they sound deaden all my doors which boggles my mind even more.
