Mothers wheel and tire cleaner

Anybody use this stuff, wondered before I pulled the trigger (pun intended)
to use on my wheels...

Seen several people use them in above thread. I just use car washing soap on the rims and Mcguires Tire gel for the tires

 

Theres a detailing sub forum... nobody has used that garbage. I use water and bleach to clean my truck

 

I would just warn to read the directions and be sure to follow them. Most of this type spray wheel cleaners instruct you wet the wheels first before applying and be sure to fully rinse off.
If not can cause spotting.

I use the same soap/water that I use to clean the rest of the vehicle and have very good results. The TRD Sport wheel below is 3 years old and the Corvette wheel is 4 years old.

 

Same as above. I never use spray-on wheel cleaners because they are loaded with caustic chemicals and can damage the finish.
I clean them with the same quality wash detergent I use on the body, and never clean or spray water on hot wheels - always let them cool off first.

 

you seem to be getting alot of advice that isnt helpful.
The stuff is fine but its cost for how much you get isnt great.
Its better to get a quality product that you can dilute so it might cost a little more upfront but you might be able to make 5gals or so of cleaner.
Car wash soap is fine to use if its a wheel that is ceramic coated ad dirt and brake dust has a hard time sticking already. Car soap isnt strong enough to properly break up the brake dust if you haven't cleaned them in a while.
So you will still have dirt stuck after you clean them unless you scrub which then could cause some wear on the finish.
Using a proper product made to brake up brake dust will make it easier to clean and less aggressive scrubbing leaving it a safer clean to your wheels.

I personally use 3D wheel cleaner and dilute it 9.5oz per gallon of water so the 64oz bottle makes you over 6gal of cleaner
also I use Optimum power clean diluted 5:1 this makes over 5gal of cleaner
Power cleaner is also a great APC to use all over the car inside and out as well

you can also use P&S wheel and tire diluted to around 5-10:1 depending on how dirty your wheels get

Also every few months I recommend useing an iron cleaner to deep clean the wheels out to dissolve any embedded iron deposists

I agree with the above comment noting how much you pay for what you get. I was using that exact Mother's cleaner and it did not last very long after washing my truck and wife's car. It maybe only lasted about 2 car washes. I switched over to the diablo wheel cleaner from Chemical Guys and although it's not any cheaper, you are able to use a lot less product to cover the surface area of the wheels and tires. If I had the time to properly wash the taco, I would just wash the wheels with the soap used to wash the truck and use tire gel on the tires.

 

I use the Diablo as well and I enjoy it. It smells good too!
