And before someone ask, The Pennzoil 5w-30 Blend is rated GF-6a
It meets and/or exceeds the requirements:thumbsup:

It is all good, - Pour it in:fistbump:

Gotta add a bit more info about blended oil, in the interest of full disclosure.

Our Tacoma just hit 110K miles. For the first 100K, it got Napa dino (made by Valvoline). No issues, but my local Napa store no longer sells it.

So for the last two oil changes, I bought their synblend, also made by Valvoline. For the first few miles or so after the oil is changed, I can hear mice tapdancing on the valve covers. What I mean is that it sounds a bit like an old solid-lifter Chevy V8 :), or maybe an old Singer sewing machine (if anyone has ever heard one of those). No idea why and I'm not concerned, it's just interesting to me that it has only happened (two times) right after putting in fresh blended 5W-30 -- which I will continue to use, btw.

Has anyone else ever noticed that happening?

:rofl:Mine is quieter or louder depending on the day.

I’ll get worried when it doesn’t make a noise.

There must be at least 10,000 prior “what’s the best oil” threads here on TW. I’m sure this time we’ll have 100% consensus on what’s the best. Maybe we should start a “What’s the worst oil” thread. I don’t think we had one of those. Ok all you lubrication engineers and experts, what’s the worst and what’s the best.

Oh hell, that's too easy. Obviously, the best is what I use! And the worst is whatever swill the rest of the unwashed masses use. Duh!!

You are not wrong. 99% of the responses in these oil threads are “I use”. I use this , I use that, therefore it’s the best cause that’s what I use. Never ever in the history of oil threads has the question been definitively answered. And it never will.
I’d like to see someone define what is meant by the best oil. If you can’t give a definition of The Best Oil then how can you determine if an oil is the best or not?

Good points all. Best oil for me is one that meets the manufacturer's specs. And is available locally. And with a bit of luck.... is on sale.

There is a read somewhere in here on tested oil filters from best/expensive to crap/Walmart
Winner by far was Toyota OEM for best filtration
    From K&N to WIX tested

:stirthepot:AMSOIL signature series is the best it’s just overpriced. I’v always used mobile 1 and it’s good enough for me. Peenzoil is dogshit.

I will agree with you on Amsoil being the best and yes over priced. I have watched and read many independant tests and lab results and Amsoil is superior in both oil and filters, but the Penzoil ultra platinum did very well also. I do use only Amsoil products because I have had a commercial account with them for many many years and my 4runner has 273k miles and does not use a drop of oil and runs like new. My Ranger at 250k on it when I sold it. I'm a firm believer in their products, but I also agree any decent oil and filter changed every 5k will give you long engine life. . . . . . in a Toyota.

I have always used Delo or Rotella 15w40 in literally everything I own. Except for the wife's vehicle, Since she gets her tires at the local shop its just easier to let them do a rotate and oil change all at once.

Can't go wrong with the factory filter.

    Same as everybody else...
OEM filter and any synthetic, I use Pennz, Castrol or M1, whichever is the best deal at the Walmart. Just change the oil when you should

Go 10W30 and record how long it takes to warp the head. We need hard data to settle another argument.

Why would 10w30 warp the head?

Except you can use 10w30 in a 4.0 that calls for 5w30 just fine....

Exactly lol. As stated above, I run 15w40 in almost everything I own Lawn mower, dirtbikes, atvs and multiple different vehicles without issue. Been doing it for at least the last 15 years.

When I had my first 2nd gen I had a bunch of 0w40 Castrol Euro around since I had a VW. Boy did that thing "sound" smooth on that!
