I couldn't find an answer to this, but if it has been answered then I apologize.

I recently purchased a 2020 OR and had a Bakflip MX4 tonneau installed. Part of the install is that it relocates the bed rails down by approximately 1". I'd like to mount my hi-lift using the bed rails but for obvious reasons most of the fabricated brackets expect the bed "shelf" to be a specific distance away from the factory rail locations.

Is anyone aware of a mounting system that can utilize the relocated rails? I know I can use a drill-in mounting solution but I'd prefer not to do that, especially since I will typically not have the hi-lift mounted.

My solution was to build a shelf. There are also existing thread(s) on HiLift storage.

Yeah actually. The RCI bed rails work fine as long as you position them in the slots in the wheel wells (the ones that fit 2x4s). Here is a pic.

Yes. I have a short bed, so the 48" rests perfectly within the bed. I really like that it rests on the wheel well. Feels like it has extra support that way.

As you can probably see this doesn't actually have the wing nuts on because I was just test fitting. I haven't actually attempted this again yet, but I believe to make it work you'll have to slide the jack handle towards the top of the jack to give it some clearance for the wing nut. It will still be tight since the "bottom" bolt is only in the second hole and rather close to the base. Worst case, I think you could just replace the wing nut with some other type of nut, or grind the wings down a bit. If I get a chance I'll do a proper test fit.

Sweet man. I was thinking of ordering the 60” and cutting it a little bit I ended up ordering a 48” and am gonna attempt to build my own mounts.

hoping it comes out clean and nests nicely under the bakflip.

I have a 60" Hi-Lift and I didn't have to cut any off. It fits perfectly.

Yea, I read it was able to fit and saw some pictures of it. I just wasn't sure if it would fit under the tonneau cover so I opted for the 48"

Do the mounts fit flush against the bed?, I am curious if it sits solid against the bedside or vibrates off of it.

It feels flush. But honestly I haven’t taken it out because of COVID.

Gotcha, I think I might pull the trigger. My current one doesnt fit anymore and it used to rattle over every small bump or washboard road.

    As long as its solid
    Thanks

    Hey Joe,

I have a short bed myself and was looking to mount a jack on the bed rail using the HL mounting brackets they offer. You were able to fit a 60" HL within the short bed with no mods?

BTW, I'm waiting to pick up my sliders from you guys probably in February. Looking forward to hooking those up!
