I, too, am looking for a way to mount adjustable tracks to the existing ditch on my DCLB. My '99 Explorer had them & it was awesome. Still have the Yakima Landing pads, control towers, & 54" poles so really am determined to make this work.
After absorbing a lot of the data from previous posts these tracks seem to fit the bill. Comes in a curved version in a wide variety of lengths, 1 1/4" wide so it should fit into the ditch & hug the roofline contour.

Kevin, this looks great. I have a 2011 DCSB I'd like to try this on. Do you have any concerns with water getting into the bolt holes? Did you use any sealer when installing the landing pads?

    Thanks,

    CB

I did use a caulking for added precautions.

Thule roof rack; ARE mid-height topper; AVEC Grille insert with LED light bar; Magnaflow catback exhaust; Konig 6-Shooter rims; Goodyear Duratrac tires; Bilstein 5100 shocks with Toytec coilovers and 2" AAL; also, I built a bed in the back!
Any luck with the proline track? I'm looking to get a thule rack on my 2014 double cab. Don't like the clamp-on risers, and would like to avoid drilling fresh holes if possible. So was hoping to be able to use existing ditch. Thanks.

TacoBen14 just get the OEM rack and mount your cross bars to it. The holes are already there under the plastic covers. Unless your trying to save money. but you have a 2014 new truck.

Just wanted to thank y'all for the posts here. I just put a Yakima rack on my double-cab using landing pad 11. The only thing I had to do was get longer bolts (used 65mm).

    Thank you!

Here is a pic of what I did, but I was able to use the included bolts. Once I got the thread started it sucked it down with plenty of extra thread. I have carried over the weight limit multiple times and have no issues.

You can set it closer to the front, but you will hit your head getting in if you use a step.

Can anyone post the distance from the front-most to the rear-most predrilled threaded holes in the channel? Thinking of using the Yakima Landing pad 11.

    Thanks!

I have been looking at the proline tracks but an nervous of the quality. Have not seen any feedback from someone who has used them.

That is a clever use of the stock mounting holes. I may be interested as well

I'm getting ready for spring and am looking for a way to mount a Yakima bar to the cab. I have tracks for the cap on my DCSB and need to mount a bar to the cab. I carry a 17 foot canoe and don't like the long overhang being unsupported in the front. Reviving this thread to see if the Yakima landing pad 11 is still the best solution to mount one or if others have come up with something new. I can always get the clips for the towers I already have but looking for a cleaner solution.

I used the rhino rack tracks with Yakima control towers.
