Just bought a cheap used Leer Shell for my 2006 Tacoma and I'm going to put a couple 4ft LED strips across the inside of the roof. Problem is that the shell has no carpet, only the painted raw webbing of fiberglass.

Have any of you found a robust mounting solution to this surface? I was thinking cleaning it really well and using double sided emblem adhesive strip, but it's going to be expensive to use 8ft of that product.

Only other idea would be to epoxy narrow aluminum sheet metal strips to the shell interior and then the led strip adhesive would have a flat surface to bond.

Any other ideas or successful attempts out there?

I just did this in mine. I didn't want to use any type of glue since I know it will fail over time.

I installed nutserts in the reinforced section of the roof (part that drops down). I attached the light bar clips to these with low profile machine screws, that way I can always remove it if I need to.

This is the strip I got: https://www.superbrightleds.com/mor...-fixture-low-profile-surface-mount/1683/9700/

    Plug: https://www.superbrightleds.com/mor...ors/cps-pt-pigtail-cps-adapter-cable/759/376/

I actually had to revers the plugs on the dimmer switch since it only works one way, but that was pretty easy with a soldering iron.

Thanks, my light strip is a ribbon type, so it cannot be bolted. It has adhesive backing. Many people use these with velcro strips, but they have a carpeted interior.

I'm going to either have to shift my plan and order something else, or try some kind of epoxy...

    More than I can afford
Instead of putting them on the roof, use 3M trim tape to attach them to the top of the window frame.

That is what I did with mine. Ignore the wires, they got bundled and routed later.
