Moving from Carson to Menifee/perris/winchester/hemet

Congrats man, I grew up in Menifee and lived the last two years in Temecula before I finally got out of the chaos that is California and moved out of state. But welcome to my old stomping grounds it’s growing in Menifee but it’s a good place to live and was a good place to grow up.

 

Late to this party, but congrats on the new house. I’m in Lake Mathews, which is technically part of Perris.

Good luck. Hold onto your checkbook when you go to the DMV. It cost us upwards of $1000 to register my wife’s car the first time (taxes, registration and all that).
I grew up in that area, left CA in 1990. Menifee was little more than the Newport Rd exit. Sun City and Romoland were their own “cities”.
Moved back to Menifee in 2016, then to MoValley in 2017 (just down Cactus from RUHS). Left for Oklahoma this past Jan and not looking back.

CA in general was the last straw. Traffic, cost of everything, crime... Our house got robbed, mailboxes broken into repeatedly. I actually like MoVal better than Menifee. I’ve never hated any city like I hate Menifee.

Congrats on leaving California. I've always wanted to move but our family business is here.

 

We’re pretty happy where we are, we like the rural feel but still close enough for work. We bought the trashiest house in the neighborhood and have spent two years doing repairs so far. I had medical issues that set us back, but we’re in a pretty good spot. (I think we have the best view in Riv county, but I may be biased.)
We’re probably looking at moving out of state at retirement if not sooner.

 

I'm very late to the party, but welcome to the 'hood. I'm just a few exits south of you in Murrieta. My wife grew up in Menifee and my in-laws still live there, so we're in "the fee" at least once a week.

I just purchased a 2020 Off Road 4x4 about 2 weeks ago (I gave up my built-up Nissan Xterra, which was hard to do), and I'm just getting acquainted with the local Toyota community. Hope to see you around and maybe hit a trail one day!

 

Elsinore is trash. Lived there several years just a haven for shitbag losers. Menifee is nice but the problem it's in the same general vicinity. We left 14 years ago for greener pastures and will not return. Our friends and family can come up here to Eastern Washington to enjoy the beauty and visit. So Cal was my home, born in Port Hueneme and loved the beach/ocean. Sadly it has turned ghetto too.
