    After coming to terms with how horrible the factory sound system is in the Tacoma I decided to invest a few bucks. I didn't need/want a DVD player or navigation unit so I went for something a little more simple.

    Overall cost for everything was less than $400 including Sony GT930 head unit (new) Scosche subwoofer box (used), MTX 702X amp (used) and Sony shallow mount subwoofer (new).

    I am pretty impressed so far for the price and install. For anyone that has used this Scosche pre-fabricated box you know it is horrible but after placing foam strips across the back and filling the box with polyfil I must say things are much better. Door speakers are next on the list...

    Looks good brother.

    It looks like the sub box fits pretty well also.
