I'll be moving to Colorado in a few months from being born and raised in So Ca, I'm worried about all the salt roads and such, is there anything I should be doing to protect the under carriage of my taco?

I just want to say congratulations on the escape. I'll be thinking of you while I sit in my 600 sqft apartment, wondering which items I own will be illegal next.

Colorado does not use regular salt. They use magnesium chloride which will NOT rust out your truck. I too moved from CA to CO and I was there for 2 winters and the truck didnt have 1 spec of rust on it. However, when I moved from CO to MA, my truck rusted out in 2 winters.... it was awful.

Your welcome, anytime. I sprayed my truck before winter and the underneath looks brand new after all the salt and stuff from the roads!

Yeah, I've never been worried about rust around here. Also, our climate is very dry so any water that builds up typically dries very quickly.

i was in SoCal for 30 years, then Seattle for 8 years, now i've been in San Jose for two years and i'm dreaming about Colorado. all the people and regulations did not bother me originally, but after living in WA and then coming back to CA i am constantly annoyed by the stupidity that goes on here. i hope Colorado will have us both. thanks for letting me rant in your thread.

i am also interested in how they treat the roads in CO. for the record, WA does not generally use salt either.

USED TO... be so much better. The past 2-3 years it's gone downhill quick. I'm sorta joking and sorta serious. Denver especially is no different from socal now. Insane traffic, ridiculous rent, and the people all from socal.

We don't use salt on the roads here though. Rust is never an issue.

in Washington the big thing was 'keep your CA ass out of my community!', so i think that's a thing everywhere. the issue is mad population growth and cats are just creeping into formerly rural areas more and more. gentrification is a bitch.
