    Hey All!

It looks like I will be moving to the Sonoma County Marin County area for work towards the end of June. Money is going to be a bit tight for a month or two while I get my feet under me. I am super excited to be in such a beautiful area of the US as I am coming from the D.C. area. I have a really good looking first gen tacoma and am thinking of putting a roof top tent back on her. I was wondering if any of you have any areas you know of where I can camp for free for a bit? Or maybe if any of you have a bunch of land and I could post there, I could even help around with chores and things as well. I am avid surfer and would be hyped to be near the ocean however I am open to any opportunity. Thanks so much in advance.

    -Jake

Welcome to California. Keep in mind you are moving to one of the most expensive places to live in the US. Money may be a bit tight fora long time.

Drive HWY 1 if you get a chance. Super scenic drive along the coast.

Welcome to California! It is a special place and a great place to live, very beautiful with lots of opportunity. And Sonoma/Marin County is awesome. Would love to live there.

CA has it's drawbacks in some respects, but some of the best offroading, camping, hiking/nature exploring in the country exists here in this state. The big city parts of the state are one thing, but head out into one of the countless state & national parks, forests, mountains, beaches, etc. and you'll be happy you're here. Welcome
