well i have to say, ive lived in PA, NC, AL, FL, NYC, and now TX. All for long enough periods of time to pick up on the social graces they all have to offer. Each one has its one similarities and differances. (check for speeling, its 4am here due to the time im supposed to be sleeping.)

Bu ti have to admit, NC has the most back woods people i have ever met. No the flatlanders in SC, but the mountain boys in western NC. They truely had thier own tounge that i dont even think Foxworthy could touch.

PA and FL as wierd as it may seem, were the same in the Redneck town. Good ole boys doing their thing. Trucks, hunting, and the slang.

Tx on the other hand has a truely differant flavor. The first time some one pulled on the shoulder to let me pass cause i came up on them 10mps faster to let me by, I nearly shit myself. Thats awesome. And Texas is the first and only state i have ever felt the need for a stetson with i now proudly wear!

Dont get me wrong, I plan on moving back into the mountains, But im gonna enjoy the ladies, and the plain ole fun in TX while im here, And i dont think i will ever loose my new hat!

(Only complaint: Not enough NASCAR fans!)

Watch out. ND just might kick you out of the alliance for saying something complimentary about Texas. Not that that would break my heart or anything...

Even before I learned to drive, my parents taught me that behavior. It's just basic courtesy. I've been surprised that it's not common in other places. I've also had some out of state folks pleased with the U-turn lanes when going under an overpass. I'd never considered that it wasn't a universal way to build them. Living in Texas will spoil ya.

the pulling over and the underpass u-turns both weirded me out at first when i was there, b/c i had been in sc, nc, fl, va, tn, maryland, nj, ny, minn, nd, nv, nm...ummm....spain, france, germany, england...and had never experienced neither of those things...

Yeah, that weirded me out at first, but now I love it. The people doing the U-Turns don't end up clogging up the turn lanes! :D

All i know is if Clemson lost to Cent Mich i was going to completely renounce them forever. A high school team could beat CM, and if the tigers lost i was gonna go nuts.

Oxian: if i weren't so proud that the Alliance recruited a texan i would make you burn your stetson to make up for complimenting them. Although i guess i cant blame you, i did compliment their BBQ at one point. BTW, for all you texans out there, i can get real texas BBQ whenever i want. I dont know how many of you are familiar with "Big Dave" but he was the official cook for the Texas Cowboys and served BBQ to the Bush family on multiple occasions. He just recently moved to Clemson and has a little BBQ hut right in the middle of Clemson. And he makes some awesome BBQ! Seems like lately everyone is leaving Texas for the Carolinas :)

Does "Big Dave" import mesquite wood? If not, then pseudo-Texas bbq is what you're getting.

Sawdust: stop trying to rain on my parade. You can get mesquite wood here in SC. you're just jealous that the cowboys and Bush aren't getting the best BBQ anymore. Nope, the best BBQ is going to the Tigers and us Carolinians :)

But raining on your parade is so much fun. Just remember, you started this.

Frankly, I don't care what the Cowboys and Bush are eating. I care a lot more about the quality of the BBQ I eat. If you Carolina boys can learn to appreciate real Texas BBQ, then that's great. There's hope for you to become cultured.

I'm not gonna bash Texas for having good BBQ. I'm not gonna try to find fault with something awesome just for the hell of it. You guys are on your game when it comes to certain things, BBQ, chili, hot chicks.... I'll give credit where credit's due. Texas still sucks as a whole though!
