Probably not so much now that oil is down, Plus this isn't North Dakota that had/has zero infrastructure.

I know they're full here in Brighton, but I do not know the reasoning... so the information I had was a best guess.

You drive a tacoma not a subaru so you wont even be allowed near the city. Subarus are the only vehicle allowed in the boulder city limits  Buy elsewhere. The loveland area is super nice and still fairly reasonable compared to surrounding areas. Actually, scratch that. Just stay where you are. Too many people have moved here in the last year. Its getting rediculous. Why is my 1970's 800 square foot hosue valued at over 240K when just two years ago I got it for 150k? too many people. too....many....damn....people......

    Stay away from Ward.

Really f'd up town. There's only 150 people that live there and probably 125 are on meth or cooking it.

Alright then. I will stay away from ward. Would anybody here rent land from their property to me for the tiny house?
I have been looking and I think Knoxville, TN will probably my way to go since it is way cheaper to find a small plot of land. It sucks because UC Boulder is the only
college in Colorado that offers a degree in Aerospace Engineering.

There are RV/mobile home lots all over, even in the middle of Boulder. I have no idea what the rent is though. Just a note about Ward- do some background reading, it's a very funky town and not for everyone. I'd be happy there, but it's very David Lynch/Twin Peaks.

I already did look up the RV lots closest to Boulder and most of them from what I read on their sites will not allow you to stay past 14 days or so.

Tiny house owners have a very difficult time finding places to stay near the city. Most of them that I have known go way out to the boonies, don't have a job, and planned on living that way. Its too bad that that's the case.

And it's a very respected program.

Look to ERAU in either Prescott, AZ or Daytona Beach, FL. The Prescott campus would be similar to Boulder only better. No bleeding heart liberal, yet extremely selfish, hippies. :D

Honest question...why not just get an RV? I went to the Tiny House Jamboree they had here recently (I'm not really sure why everyone with Tiny Houses is moving here lol). I walked around in some. I just don't get it I guess. Seems like an RV or just a smaller stationary house would be much easier.

Old thread, but I've been offered a job in Boulder. I imagine it's a great place to live if you're single without attachments, but I'm married with two young kids (5 and 1). The position starts in the high 5-digits and improves to low 6-digits within the first three years. Is the cost of living around Boulder so outrageous that it wouldn't be worthwhile to sever ties here, pull up stakes and head West? The mountains and outdoor options are a major plus. Having a university nearby promises a creative nexus. My wife and I could continue our schooling there. Plus, we're still young (mid thirties) and would enjoy some exploring. First step would be shoring things up here, finding suitable housing (3-4br, 2ba with workshop or garage, or basement. Ideally an older home, or just outside of town). Oh, and buying a Subaru. We are NOT city people. My job would be in the newly legalized agricultural industry in Colorado.

Well... 1800 sq ft., 3 BR, 1.5 BA 3-car garage will run you $400k in Erie, which is a 25 minute drive to Boulder. Can be done on a 100k salary but no frills. The upside? I bought that house in 1999 for $200k. Go to a 45 minute drive and that drops to $300k.

Boulder is awesome place to work and play I would look in feeder city that are 15-20 minutes away. Westminster Broomfield Arvada.
according to the latest data from D.B. Wilson at Re/Max of Boulder, analyzing home sales in Boulder County for the first half of 2016. The average sales price of a single-family residence in the city of Boulder was$1,067,213 over the past six months, up 9 percent from the same time last
