Oh ok, I thought they may have been pelicans, darn those expensive. But great quality from what I've seen. What do you put in them? And what's generally in the bed? Even after over 2 years of owning a taco, I still haven't figure out a really good storage setup. And now I've got less space haha. Worth it though :D

I know this is not my thread, and you are asking Dean, but I keep tools in mine. Have a smaller one I use for first aide also as he stated.

My bed has a platform in it for my dog. I don't have anything else in there. In the black box I have all of my recovery equipment plus tools, numerous fluids and air hoses. It is the perfect height for 1 quart oil bottles. I am gonna snap a picture one of these days with everything that I pack in there. It is actually a lot. They are lockable too.

That's a good question, lol. I can take measurements but I don't know which model it is.

Wow must be a decent amount of room in there. I'd love to see a pic. What page is the k9 platform on? I have a full size german shepherd and he would sure enjoy some space back there. What did you do with the soft topper? If it's for sale I may be interested.

Sold the soft topper to a local member a ways back. I don't have pictures of the platform. If just rests on top of the wheel well all the way across the bed. I put some carpeting over it to make her more comfortable back there. She really didn't like being in the back when the Softopper was on. The topper flapping in the wind down the freeway freaked her out. Now, with the shell, she just sleeps back there whenever we go anywhere.

What sucks about most of these hardcases is they all use the same size hole for the locks. 1/4" to 5/16" hole. and the locks that fit that are not really quality.

I lock mine using a set of master lock extended shackle, the Circle nuts from frontrunner, and a small length of chain/.. Serves the purpose and once I post a pic, others might like the idea also.

Yea I know what you mean about the small holes on them. I think that with the locks on mine plus it being up on the roof, will usually discourage somebody from opening it. It can be a pain in the ass to get up to sometimes but I like it being up there.

Haha dags. Was it a soft topper from www.softopper.com? I found a local one for sale with a rear window. It has the softopper logo on the side but doesn't look like canvas. It looks shiney like a plastic type material. Your was canvas right? With a dull rough finish? Sorry to waste your time.

Yea I got it from Softopper.com. It was a canvas, but it can be shiny if you use some cleaner on it. If it has the softopper logo, it is more than likely a softopper brand. Got any pictures of it?

This is 5 links of chain, and then the 4 locks. One lock per case and another on each of the Circle nuts. I made them open towards each other so I could sit on one and work out of the other one.

I loosen up on the ratchet straps, then unhook the closest hook. the whole thing will easily flop towards the front of the truck allowing me to unlock and work out of it. Putting it back together in inverse in a breeze.

My black case is bolted to the roof rack, the first aid kit is strapped on with some ratchet steps for quick access.

Your setup would definitely deter me if I was a thief. Too much work, haha.
