Edit, probably apparent from the horizontal slotted holes in them, but they are a little bit adjustable as to how widely they protrude on the side.

 

looks better then oem to me. Wonder why they told me they wouldnt fit. I wonder if they changed them since then. Your are from 2021 right?

 

Thanks, I like em. They're flexible too so they won't break on rocks. I wonder if they have different versions or something? Maybe they did change them, but the listing I linked is the exact one I bought from in late (December) 2021.

 

Ah. Tacomas have been this way for the past 20 years. Get the bedstep if you need this feature.

 

SR should have been body-color end caps on the bumper, not chrome.

What makes you say it is a 4Runner bumper? (Pics of the bumper, tailgate up, no toes please.)

Something ain’t right, for a truck with only 5 miles on it. If it wasn’t sellable, who changed it?

Utility package might be black caps, but my SR is body-color. Could be wrong, so I’ll check in the morning. Maybe that SX package has the chrome. (?)

 

Or someone was like, I don’t want chrome, but that truck does?

 

it was one of the last ones built. I think toyota was just throwing what they had left at it. The SR 4x4 DCs were very hard to find for me towards the end of the 3rd gen so im glad I came across this one. It also has trd OR skids like my last trd or 4x4 had.

Toyota is off their rocking chair with prices for new gen trucks and 4runners it will probably be the last new totota I buy unless they fix their pricing.

 

It doesnt actually have a bumper off a 4runner on it. I meant it is designed like an suv bumper meaning it doesnt have that flat end to step on to get into the bed of the truck with the tailgaite down which is a massive pain. Now i have to close the tailgate just to be able to use the bumper step to get into the back of the truck. Which i cant do with a load on lumber so I have to climb the rear tires to get in or use my stool. Dont know if they are doing that becuase it looks better in pictures or crash tests

 

My sr tundra had black but my other sr tacoma had body color. So i think when it comes to the sr's they just throw whatever they have laying around on them lol. Im just happy they make a trim that i can afford. Hopefully they stop neutering the new gen SR trucks because that pisses me off something fierce.

 

The Amazon info for Rekgen tacoma flaps say they will fit without and with flares so I dont know. Guess I will buy from amazon and send them back it they dont fit.

 

That's why Toyota (and aftermarket companies) sell a step that's bolted to the frame. Kick down, use it, kick it up to stow.
My Gen 2 and now Gen 3 Tacos did not have a step in the bumper, that's a domestic truck feature.

 

Nissan does it. This is how all toyota truck bumpers should be designed. Plain and simple truck bumper no need for extra bolt on pieces and parts after the fact although nissan puts the flip step at the factory

There is no difference between the Tacoma's and Titan's bumpers.
Titan in your pic has a bolt on step that I told you TWICE about in this thread. Step is NOT in the bumper, it is a separate, add on piece.

 

do you know if anyone makes a flip step kit that includes both left and right sides? If not ill get me one of these. looks like plenty of step on the sides of this one.
