    Nada yet, just a Bestop
I've had Silent Armors on 2 vehicles (98 Taco and 93 Silverado) Great tire, great price. I live in the hilliest part of NJ and we get a ton of snow (worst in the state) here in Sussex County. I have never had a problem. I also drive through logging ruts to my hunting spot. Worth checking out.

    GY MTR with kevlar

It's an asymmetrical design that delivers both aggressive and tame tread characteristics. On the outer edges, the pattern almost appears to be grooved - like a purposeful mud bogging tire would be to add void spacing. On the inside however, there is a column of tightly packed tread blocks that maintain a seemingly continuous rib for street friendly performance. The on road manners are pleasant and relatively quiet, with none of the vibration or harshness we expect from tires with high void ratios. In the mud, the pattern cleans well, and when aired down, the 3 ply sidewall is flexible enough to envelope rocks the size of tennis balls. Speaking of sidewalls, GY included kevlar fibers to the MTR's sidewalls to add puncture resistance. If you want a mud tire that shines both on and off road, the MTR with kevlar is hard to beat.

    Scores: street 3/4 sand 3/4 mud 4/4 heavy rock 4/4 snow 3/4 ice 2/4

I was thinking about the nitto mud grappler cause they look so nice but I checked them and they don't make them in the size I need. I use 33x12.5r15.

I have the Kumho KL71's. I love them. They pull great offroad and they do pretty good on the street also.

Just a bunch of old crap
KM2's for life. I have 40k on my current set and should easily get 50k out of them. They take a beating on rough rocks, they grind through mud and sand like a champ, and their tread spacing has the best mud clearing I've seen. I do 90% freeway driving and I'm so used to the noise that I really don't notice it.

As for all mud terrains, rotate them frequently (3k miles) and they will wear evenly and stay relatively balanced.

I own KM2s and I'm happy with them. I love the look of the red letter Grabbers. I don't like the look of the MTRs as much but they are excellent tires with better sidewalls than the other options.

After all of that, depending on the size you want (I couldn't get them in a 33x10.50 or I would have them on my own truck) you should also consider the Super Swamper Trxus. Great mud tire that does well on the road and is one of the best mud terrains in the snow.

I am going to be looking for a set of new tires shortly... I do a lot of driving in snow and ice in the winter. How do the Km2's do in the snow and ice? Anyone else have good experience with tires in the snow.

I have toyo open county (all terrain not the mt) right now and they do not work as well as i need them too.

KM2s for life for me. I live in Cedar City Ut (which is 30 min from Brianhead Ski resort) so it snows a lot here and im just 2wd and i do just fine. The tires are amazing in the snow and ok in the ice. but i dont know many tires that are "good" on ice. i mean its ice my shoes dont even work good on ice. but I have had these tires for almost 40k and still love them as much as the day i got them.

If you want a MT that is good on ice, look at something that comes pinned for studs. I know Bighorns are, not sure about others.

If you want the KM2s and drive in snow/ice frequently I would be sure to have them siped. Without siping they are marginal at best as a solid surface winter tire. Otherwise I would look at the Goodyear Duratrac or Super Swamper Trxus for much better snow performance from a mud tire.

What he said. Just get em siped and you will be fine. The Goodyears do great on snow and ice tho i have been told. But i drive on a lot of snow and ice too and i still would opt for the KM2s over the druatracs IMO
