I just got a set of Pro Comp Xterrians and holy cow they flex amazingly offroad. The upside/downside is the rubber seems to be pretty soft. They stick to rocks like no ones business. They definatly hook up better than some of my buddies tires. however they have quite a bit of vibration on the highway. And will definatly wear alot quicker than a tire with a harder compound.

My friend ran a set of 31 treadrite mtrs on his tj and loved them. Then a set of the treadwrite 285/75/16 goodyears lookalikes on his exterra and loved them just as much. Shoulda seen the looks he got for having BFG sidewalls with a goodyear MTR pattern.:D

I love hearing this as I am on the verge of buying a set of Treadwrights myself. Basically 1/2 price of everything else. Just curious how their MTRs are in the snow??

I have KM2s. I like them. They were quiet when I first got them but seem to get louder after every rotate but it nothing bad. I'm thinking of trying the MT MTZs in a couple of weeks. Right now I'm running 255/85r16 but unfortunately MT doesn't make anything in that size so I'm going with 285/75r16.

I have had about every kind of mud terrain made. I have had the best luck with the mickey mtz. I drive mostly on the road, but I go in the mountains on a regular bases. Depends on what you do with your truck. Mine is my dd, so I dont beat the s**t out of it. The mickeys wear awesome & go great in the snow.

Actually he said they did much better than expected. Mud terrains usually arn't awesome in snow. I guess their rubber compound has some sort of harder rubber chunks in them that give they lugs a bit more grip on ice. Like tiny tiny studs.

    Edit:
    Found it on their site.
Kedge Grip is a traction additive that we blend into the rubber compound. Kedge Grip consists of a crushed walnut shell and crushed glass particle that works in a two fold manner. As the tire wears down the walnut shell is designed to displace from the rubber leaving a small (1mm) pit or void that provides additional traction edges. The crushed glass is designed to stay in place longer providing additional grit and grip on the surface of the tread.

I've got mickey thompson mtz's on my truck. I really like em. Not too loud. They are a little loud on the interstate but other than that they're pretty quiet. They are wearing nicely too.

After running the 33x12.50r15 Cooper STT's that are on my truck now, I was quickly and wildly unimpressed with the BFG KM2's. With that being said, I am a BFG guy, always have been and will continue to run BFG's on other rigs. The Coopers are quieter (contrary to other statements above) have worn exceptionally well and have been very impressive in any and all conditions I have put them through. Recently the winter driving conditions in Eastern Washington have become the proving ground and I have to say, the Coopers have been far superior to the KM2's in both aired up and aired down snow/ice driving. I drive long distance trips on pavement and have been very happy with the current wear. My family and I run rock quarries, the performance in the muddy and rocky western washington quarries have been excellent. The side lugs on the Coopers are great for the deep mud holes and greatly contributes to the performance of the tire off-road. In the sand-pit and dunes the tires have been great also. I honestly cannot say enough good about the Cooper STT's to convince you to buy these tires. Oh and I forgot to mention, the price is right. I paid $833 mounted, balanced and out the door; including the fee to dump the old POS KM2's. ;)

I have tried many different tires over the years...the Cooper ST are good when new, but wore down to miserable in 25k miles, the MudStar M/T on my old dodge are great with a load on loose soil, but tear up my gravel driveway when empty, the CooP Grip Spurs on the Military Power Wagon are my FAVORITE deep lug mud tire. Not great at high speed, but tractor like in the soft stuff.

On the other hand, MT don't work so well on daily drivers unless you mud all the time. On a DD without daily mud, go with AT tires, like the Cooper Discover ST and you will be MUCH happier.

I ended up buying the km2's. Its what I was leaning towards from the beginning so I had to get them. Im happy with them so far.
