Muffler

Anyone know off a good sounding performance aftermarket muffler?

 

I've got a Magna flow on mine. Quiet on idle and has a nice growl to it taking off. Get hard on the skinny pedal and she's screaming pretty good. There's a thread on here with several sound clips that might help you... I'll see if I can find it

I have a Spintech Super Pro Street 9000. Its the most aggressive this company makes. Idk how loud you are trying to go but here is a thread I made with some sound clips:

Thanks guys yeah just looking for something that sounds good for the right price. Don't want it to loud but load enough to here while driving!

 

I don't understand why some of these threads are being moved. OP, did you request your thread be moved out of the 1st gen section? It seems you you will get more accurate responses there instead of here.

My personal experience with my 1st gen is with the 3.4L. I have an 18' Magnaflow. It is very mellow until I get on it, then has a nice throaty response.

Magnaflow makes a 14", and 18" and a 24" (length of the body) mufflers. If you want it quiet (stock like) go with the 24". If you want to hear it without waking the neighbors when you come and go, go with the 18". If you want the whole neighborhood to hear it, go with the 14".

 

Do you have a link on where you got it from. An do you know what the stock size on the exhaust is is it 2 1/2 inch

 

No link to where I purchased, it was Amazon IIRC, but it was over 4 years ago.

FWIW, I used this part number on my truck: 11246 That's a 4x9" oval, 18" long muffler, Center in/center out with 2.5" openings. The 2.5" openings are very easy to weld onto the stock pipe.

 

Thank you so the pipe is 2.5? I was thinking about getting a adaptor to clamp it instead of weld

 

Im a fan of welding.
My urd ypipe and catback had leaks until it was welded.

 

I think the stock pipe is 2.25"

 

So what size inlet AN outlet should I get on the muffler thinking about getting the 14'

 

The 2.5" will slip over the stock pipe making it easy to weld.
