Lmao to think they even thought about giving it a reconstructed title is horse ass. Frame rot will always be their liability.

Are you still driving thier rental, on their dime? Then hell, you're making out on this deal. I understand wanting your truck back but you're not really "out" anything... and you'll get it back with a new frame in due time and with less mileage on it than you would have had you been driving it this whole time, so it will be, in effect, worth more!

I got a letter from Toyota about my frame a few weeks ago. It says they will replace the frame - PA is not on the list of affected states. FullSizeRender.jpg

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
It does matter in Toyota's eyes. I know there have been issues with people buying them, sitting on them for a few months and taking them to toyota to cash out.

I even know of some cases where people helped the rust out on trucks that weren't that bad to try and bank on Toyota.

If you were the first owner it should be no issue, they have generaly been very good about it. If not, you may need to do some more leg work, and or calling to corporate etc but they will make it good.

If you just bought it, you may be SOL. There are frames out west for about 500 bucks, maybe 12-1500 with shipping? you could always buy a frame and swap the frame if it comes down to it. Don't scrap the thing!

There isn't a recall per say where they are just fixing every single one, there are more than one TSB/recal etc that they are working with and its more of a case by case thing. The only cases i know of, where they really didn't end up doing anything was prior salvage vehicles, and people trying to take advantage. The rest get resolution.

WTF? AZ, NM on the list? Why? Nothing rusts out there. I don't see Ohio or New York either but they are replacing frames here and have been for some time. I think that letter is old and / or incorrect.
