I am very glad to find a site to express my views on any of my 14 previous Toyotas including my 6th Tacoma + one Hillux. I presently own an 11' prerunner 4 door with a flat camper shell that makes a nice big trunk. L Lee Parmeter Biloxi, MS

My first Toyota was a 67 Toyopet Crown MS (3RB 1.9l engine) with 3 on the tree. It was a great car but you needed a mechanic along. In 71 I traded for a Carina. It had the 2T engine front disc brakes and a 4 speed tranny and it would fly. An abberant 18 wheeler took it out while stationed at Hamilton AFB California. My 11 PreRunner is a far cry from the older models. It is more of an ass hauler that a rugged truck like the older models as i don't have the TRD package. I am an avid RV'er and towed my 06 Tacoma 4 down (5 speed for over 35K miles) with no problems. Toyota said it couldn't be done and the tranny would freeze on the 1st trip. Have a nice day Tacoma folks!! Lee from Biloxi

Sad to say my 14th Toyota has gone the way of some lemon vehicles. My 2011Tacoma Prerunner had a myriad of problems. The transmission would go into neutral on a corners. the brakes would go to the fllor and pulsate. It was impossible to control on the road in any kind of side wind and the radio was impossible to hear over 65mph. All of these issues the dealer couldn't repeat the problem except the tranny which they didn't have a fix for. It now belongs to a new owner. On the good side I got more than i paid for the truck by 1K Good luck ownwers as this was my last Toyota. L Lee Biloxi Mississippi
