look like a decent little truck for a 2006, hard to believe it needs that type of repair to the engine at those low miles

I’d like to know if the #4 coil at the spark plug is wet with motor oil or dry and how many miles are on the plugs?

My thoughts exactly. Would be much more of a commitment for me to get it home, but for $1000 I’d be more than happy to make that trip

The pcv is new. The plugs are oil fouled, but still fire as I do commute 30-45 miles and drives fairly smooth (Knock on wood).

Coparts just offered $1600. If I didn’t have my smog certificate due I’d just run it as is. Selling the Tacoma at this point makes more sense as I don’t have the resources available at this time to do a motor swap

I've seen PCV valves cause oil consumption issues.

Does anything correlate with the increase in oil consumption?? Replace any parts? Or have any work done.?

not that I can think of. I’ve even added 10-40w oil and it still burns oil like crazy. Very noticeable when accelerating and off idle.

I don’t have the resources at this time to do it myself.

Not that it’ll do anything I’d do one of those Gunk 5 minute engine flushes then change the oil to the stock viscosity. Clean the maf sensor and maybe wipe out the throttle body and look for and replace any cracked or dry rotted vacuum hoses

How regularly do you do your oil changes?

if you are set on getting rid of the truck, take some nice pictures with it all cleaned up and polished. post it on craigslist for $3500, say "buyer responsible for smog" and im sure someone will happily take it off your hands. the used car market is crazy right now.

Burning a quart every 40 miles...I’d wager every 250 miles give or take.
