I think the tsb springs are great with an aal. Like how the truck feels. People talk shit about them but I think most of that is people jumping on the bandwagon. I'm sure expensive aftermarket are better but yeah....

its the people that complained about a "harsh ride" and wanted a freaking car like ride that have put me in this position... i want to actually use my truck as a truck and the suspension is so soft due to pansies like above that complain about a harsh ride.

Coming from my 2500HD chevy with 1 ton suspension that moved MAYBE 1/4in when a dirbike was loaded on it... everything else is stupid soft.

And... you can have your TRD sport with simulated LSD's etc.... in 2 months of owning my Offroad... rear diff locker has been used to get me through a handful of situations with very little issue that without it would have been one hell of a struggle if not even possible....

I also seem to recall some website / recomendation that had some HD leaf packs for like 180 to 200 bucks.

This... My brand new tsb pack with a wheelers 3 leaf progressive aal lasted less than 50k.

Unless you like making trips to the dealer every other year go with a aftermarket leaf pack.

I haven't had a problem with mine and I find the ride better than stock but i also have a 1.5 inch aal. While i only have 20k miles on the truck, im sure they'll be fine until 100k. If not, i'll buy someone's takeoffs for cheap.

Dakers are great. For the application that you're using your truck for a HD spring is in order. For average tacoma driver tsb springs are fine imo.

My info is based on facts while your 100k claim is a total assumption.

+ never ridden in a Tacoma with a single aal that didn't ride like a stiff turd.

I like the stiff ride. Less of a washboard feeling than stock. To each their own. There are thousands of stock tacomas with original springs with greater than 100k. Are they shot? Yeah most likely

Mine failed at two months with just a undercover, hitch and bed mat and began to sag. Yes lost it's rake and started to sag. I put 12 blocks @ 26lb each 312lb in the back in front of the axel and it looked like I was coon hunting in tops of the trees and hitting the bumps stops real bad. Called the service manger and he volunteered to put Tacoma 4 leaf pack on. It brought the rear up about 2". Still not worth a shit. I put five stock 16" steel Tacoma wheels/tires in the back the other day and it sag bad. WTF! I knew before they put the new springs on that they would not hold up.

I will put my own leafs on and make it right. I figured if Toyota hasn't got the springs right in all these years they be no insight of them ever getting it right.

Gelo I glad yours is working out good for you.

All two leaf packs must not be the same? I have a 2 leaf park on my 2010 SR5 Prerunner and have had in excess of 500 lbs of landscaping blocks with very little sagging. Do people expect to load the truck and not have it sag at all?

Personally, I don't haul in excess of 500 lbs that often, so I prefer the ride of the 2 leaf packs.

Just FYI, my 2012 DCLB SR5 came with 3+overload leafs.....I had the TSB done (which I think has been cancelled now) because of driveline vibes. They put new leafs in, a transmission mount spacer and some crap on the steering wheel to try and hide the vibrations. None of it worked. I then installed an OME lift and no more driveline vibes! At least from the rear.....after 10k I'm starting to pick up a vibration in the front now.

When I bought my current double cab last July it had stock 2 leaf+overload springs in it and it sat about level. Then 2 weeks later the middle leaf snapped on the driver's side. I replaced both sides with replacements (still 2 leaf+overload) from General spring and it picked the back of the truck up about 1.5". It hasn't sagged and it's been 10k miles since I put them in. Rides a hair firmer than it did before. And I've loaded it up with probably 1/2 a yard of sand a few times as well as a couple full loads of construction debris, full loads of tires/wheels, lots of stuff and it doesn't sag outrageously. Sure it squats a little but not enough to be concerned with and it hasn't hit the bumpstops. My last double cab I had for 2 years with the same original springs my current truck had on it. It had about the same amount of miles and it sat level. The same loads I've put this truck through had it on the bumpstops. Heck 2 big guys in the back seat would have it hitting the stops on bumps.

last weekend with 1/4 cord of wood on TSB leafs with 3 leaf progressive AAL

Can you say POOP???? I sure can. Truck should handle a cord of wood and can't even handle 1/4 of that and that's with aftermarket aal's. Toyota should be ashamed of itself.

I had close to 1000 pounds in the back of my bone stock double cab off road yesterday and it wasn't on the bumpstops... Granted the springs are still new...
