For $40K plus a trade? You could get an F150 that's fairly well equipped for that. Or a Tundra.

He didn't say 40k plus trade, he said close to 40k.. so 39 and change. Didn't see anything About a trade in. you can't get a full size in comparable trim level for 39.. can't do it!(Ross Perot voice)

Edit, I see he traded a 10 year old frontier with 150k that had been in a few crashes.. so how much would that have been on free market? Idk.. just trying to make the dude feel a little better:)

He said $40K plus he traded a Frontier in. You can get a full size that is pretty close for around $43-44.

Gave me Kelly blue book for my truck which was how much I owed anyway that zeroed out my trade , got the new truck 3,000 with 10 yr 100,000 warranty , gap , top package roadside stuff and dent - paint zero deductible thought it was good deal ... I looked at getting f150 eco but cheapest new I found was 40000 with 10,000 sticker but not a lot of options pretty basic truck my 2012 tundra had more options on it

I just built one of those F-150 XLT's on Ford's site with a 302A package and it was about $43,900. Seemed pretty well equipped to me.

Most of the "old schools truck guys" that own a second gen taco
Say they hate technology and the new body style because
    #1 The are jealous, or
#2 they can't afford a new truck right now, or
#3 they are kicking their head because they didn't wait another year or two for the 3rd gen to come out and now they are stuck with a dated looking truck, or
    #4 all of the above.
    Btw who hates technology?
And iits not like the new taco is a space ship !!
It has a very basic "technology " comparing to a lot of new trucks out there right now .

I would rather have my nuts crushed in a vise than drive a Ford.

They are closer to 45k I looked, that's before tax etc.. maybe he was otd for 40. At any rate, size vs price is only a piece of the pie. Just because it's bigger doesn't mean it's a better deal. People, like me want mid size

My point is, because it's "bigger" it's not a "better" deal.

Makes no sense... we are not buying by the pound here

Yeah even with them discounting full size pickups $10-13k off sticker a comparable full size Ram big horn 4WD crew cab with all the same options cost $38-39k in my area before taxes and fees. I paid $34,830 for my TRD off road and $36k out the door. My lease only had $300 worth of equity so that was pretty much a wash.

Yes the Ram big horn only costed $4k more but I didn't want a full size and an extra $4k means I would had to put an extra $4k down or have a truck payment $64 higher.

I was looking at the Tundra, but went with the Tacoma. Now I'm having second thoughts. The 3rd gen Tacoma is a nice truck on paper, but the execution has been flawed, to say the least. I hate not being able to trust my vehicle, never experienced that with a Toyota before.
