Just graduated Friday actually! Looking at a few jobs in other areas. Hoping to be able to finance my Tacoma-Upgrading addiction.

Yes my rear shocks were leaking and I decided to upgrade them along with AAL. The fix I've found is energy suspension grease between each leaf. Would like to dump the truck all together but decided need to keep it for couple more years so might as well implement a moderate suspension upgrade to improve that aspect of the vehicle over the next 50k miles or so.

Not a single one. It was honestly the slowest roll I have ever been in. Look at the side picture, didn't even fold the mirror in or dent the passenger front or rear door

Mine came with some Fox 2.0's. I ended up lifting the truck with a floor jack and using lithium grease (Tube for easy access areas and Aerosol Lithium grease for in the bushings I did not want to remove to lube). Also removed the shock bushings and lubed them up nicely for easy penetration Less noise.

Energy suspension grease will likely hold up much better over the long term. It's very heavy duty stuff. However whatever works for you is good.

Were you trying to impress the girl by off-roading your truck in the dead end of a city street? :notsure:

Lol, that would have been a better story (especially since it worked even with a rollover). but no I was just doing a U-turn on what I thought was a standard dead end road.

Swung about a foot wide over what I thought was 6" of grass. The second the front wheel fell into that hole/drop-off, the weight distribution caused it to gently tip forward to the front corner and flop down onto the side. Too bad I didn't have my light setup on my truck back then, I coulda seen that there was a cliff a bit better maybe.

Thats the road ahead during the day-time. Imagine it at night! You can hardly see that it drops off. They needed to put some reflectors or a sign there to warn people.

There was a link in 1 of these threads to a story written by a former 1st Gen TRD Tacoma Engineer. They made him use rear shocks that were too small, and he looked under a new one and could not believe they were still using the same diameter shocks today, said they are definitely a weak link so it sounds like you did the correct thing by upgrading them.
