Please excuse my ignorance but what are those 2 units your speaker wires are going to?

Crossovers for the front speakers. They divide the highs and lows for a set of componants (woofer-tweeter separates) so that the speakers have better performance. It's up to the individual where to mount them.

Thanks for sharing! Did you have to take out the child safety seat hooks?

Yes, I opted to take all 3 of them out. DO NOT FOLLOW ********* INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO DO THIS! There are better ways than hacking, pulling and pounding them. Mr. Marv gave me some great pointers.

Thanks! I was concerned about that too and been checking it at high volumes. It doesn't hit the plastic backing. The sub is designed to be in tight spots. The cone doesn't move up that much with bass up. I compared it with the seats off and on. There is no difference on how the sub performance and don't have any issues with it hitting anything. I think some of the guys forget to flatten the screw mounts for the storage bins. If you don not do this, it will cause the enclosure not to be flush with the back wall. I thought I could get away on not doing this because the difference is very, very little, but it makes a huge difference in fit with it flattened. DO NOT hack this off, just flattened it so you can put back storage bins if you decide to get rid of your truck. There are instructions on how to do this...just do a search.

Well, I have 2 kids and never used them. I don't use them in my other car either. I felt the same way as you did and didn't want to do any hacking on my Taco, but you can do it without looking like a hack job as long as you take your time and make sure you get right directions. Regardless, you have to "mod" it to get a system back there. Once installed, you will not see the back wall of your truck. I don't regret it after completing the project. It's was worth it! Almost forgot, you don't have to take all the child hooks off depending on your design. You can leave 1 or 2 if you wanted. I took all of them off for a cleaner install. For my design, I could of left 2 on the amp board side, but on the sub enclosure side, I definitely had to take it off.

I haven't ordered the raamaat yet. I ended up adding XM to my set up first. I was sick of listening to commercials on FM on my new system. I actually tuned the amp to XM music, because I listen to it 90% of the time vs. cd. Sounds amazing! Raammaat is next on the list. What options/price did you get yours for?

UPDATE: forgot to share, you can have Mr. Marv design and build amp board/sub enclosure to keep child hooks. Just request it before he builds it.

Rick quoted me ~ $150 for 1 pack of BXT Raamat and 3 yards of ensolite which is enough for all 4 doors and rear wall of my 07 DC, theres a How To on his site that most members follow to get this done which should help me out quite a bit. let us knows how yours goes!

WOW! That is a great price for all you get. As I mentioned above posting, I got ripped off at the local shop when I first started looking at sound deadening. After purchase, I compared prices and I was so furious. I was so upset that I had my wife go into the shop to return it, otherwise the outcome would of been a little disturbing.

    Thank you for the info.

yeah i thought it'd be more but he said it should make a pretty big difference in sound quality, plus i've heard nothing but rave reviews about it.

how abouts did you go taking the child hooks off? some save that you just drill out the 3 spot welds. i have an older style mr marv box and that'll need the hook to be removed, the amp might be shoved under the seat to save some storage space. just noticed you're in the bay area too ! its a little easier since we're in the same timezone as mr marv, haha!

how do you like the imagines? i might go with those up front to save myself from having to wire the crossovers, i'm not a huge audiofile but do like good sound, my marv recommended the imagines to me since i wont have room to run the crossovers.

That is exactly correct on how to take the child hooks off! There are 3 spot welds on each hook that you can drill out, just be carefull not to let the drill bit go into the back wall. You may have to pull to loosen them a little to get them completely off. I started with a smaller drill bit at the beginning, but realized I needed the same size or a little larger than the spot welds to have them come off cleanly. Some came off easier than others, but results were the same.

About the Imagines, I do like them, but I only use them in the back and faded out with my system. I can't give you an accurate opinion since I don't have them installed in the front and only use them for sound fill. Again, you can't go wrong with Mr. Marv's recommendation.
