My bed security solution

We were going to take a long road trip to Texas and transport multiple tools to help install a entire house flooring. Spending 5 nights on the way there in hotels, I didn't want to have to worry about the large items being stolen every night. So I already had a lumber rack and I thought if I added grid wire panels and locks I could alleviate some of my anxiety. I got keyed alike locks, and it worked wonderfully. Here are some pictures. There are a few things I would change or add after 4 weeks on the road, but all in all it did the job. I will post more pictures later.

It's just like home Depot. All the good tools are behind a a wire grid.

You have to hide in plain sight. The cage will only attract attention.

>pile some brush on top of that and cover with a second tarp, making sure a good enough amount of brush is poking out from under the second tarp.

Glad it worked out for you, and I'm not trying to be critical, but there is nothing there that an average pair of bolt cutters wouldn't get through. If I wanted into the back to see what you had, I'd just cut those bottom locks and lift the sides up like the picture at the back of the truck. I tend to agree with the comment above, hide it in plain site. Put an elevated plywood platform in the bed and stick what you can under it. Cover it with junk or low value "stuff," cover with a tarp, lock the tailgate, and park under a light. That being said, I would have probably rented a closed trailer for the amount of stuff you have in the truck.

A couple of recommendations. Where you have the locks, replace that with chain link fence tension bands that are made of galvanized steel and cheap (https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbil...vanized-Steel-Tension-Band-328524EB/312373167) and security bolts and nuts (

I do like the window screens for the pup. Nice idea and safe for doggo!
