so i bought a 1998 4x4 tacoma. i has a tundra one piece racerunner coilovers up front and a cab cage. i have been slowly buying parts so far i have fiberglass bedsides, a tubular rear bumper/tire gate, a bed cage, allpro expo leafs, allpro uniball uca, and some foa 14s for the rear. all i need are shock perches, extended brake lines and ubolts then the install will begin. cant wait to start building my truck. it is my first 4x4 and will be my first mid travel vehicle. any tips or advice on install or welding the cage or perches in is greatly appreciated

Charge your FOA's quickly or they will start leaking if they sit too long uncharged...

FOA's have a bad rep for leaking and generally need to be rebuilt. Mine leaked a little for a bit after the re-charge but stopped eventually. The seals need that charge to stay seated and can go bad if you keep them un-charged for too long (all shocks do).

That said, FOA had some quality control issues as well in their machining. Most pple recomend rebuilding your FOA's when you initially buy them as they can be full of metal shavings and have metal burs from bad machining that need to be sanded down :notsure:

    Good luck.

[IMG] took the two bottom leafs out of the expo pack and needed 18s not 14s to reach the axle. need to find the proper compression and rebound for the rear and need to install the uca but think im going to want a lt kit as my front cant keep up with the rear. fiberglass bedsides are only cut and fitted still need to mount

Well fell way behind on this and never updated but the truck has had some stuff done to it. Currently cutting the rear end apart to sell off the cage rear axle and rear shocks. Going to be using the archive garage kit to put my shocks outside the frame rail as well as install a tundra rear axle. Hopefully within the next month updates and pictures to come
