So if one of the cats on a 4-cyl gets stolen, you have to replace the other one too? Wow that sucks.

Yup, got it fixed at Toyota, car is back running like it was. $1394. One cat and one O2 sensor and a bunch of gaskets/bolts.

    Sigh.

Damm...sorry to hear that. Did your insurance help out? I've heard some companies will help you the first time and if it gets stolen again your on your own. If that's the case some sort of cat protection might not be a bad idea.

Insurance paid right away. I found out my comp. deductible was only $300, so I guess it's better than the $500 I thought I was out. Still though, it's hard to fork out good money for some douche bag. Such is life, I guess. Thanks for all your help.

Dang, sucks. This is huge problem here in Calif. They seem to hit the train stations here too, like it's their money pot. I guess zero security in these lots as well.

Only options to make them theft-reduced is a $300 Cat Clamp or DIY. There was a thread where someone here made a pretty well protected cat shield. Just takes some time to put on, crawling under the truck and all
