It may be to late at this point in time, but did you have the flywheel resurfaced??, and with a clutch disk down to the rivets, it should be done.

I replaced a clutch for one of my employees for $100.

He was ready to buy a new motor because the truck wouldn't go up hills anymore.

x2 might wear the new clutch out fast and it may not have as good of bite as it should. Also, in extreme cases it may give you the warped rotor feel on take off. its usually pretty cheap to have it done. $20 at the local machine shop in NY

I wanted to. but with no transportation to get me to a transmission shop and my dad yelling at me to get it done and get my crap off the driveway I was kind of SOL. I checked it out though, there was no discoloration or grooves or anything. none of the signs the haynes manual told me to look for. I wiped it done real good with acetone as well. So im hoping it will be fine

Just wondering how your flywheel looked . By the way your clutch looked it might have been a good idea to have it shaved. Just a thought. More than likely a shop would have resurfaced it.

i was going to take a picture of the flywheel to show you guys but i ended up taking the pictures after school so I didnt want to start effing with stuff and get all grunged up again. It looked fine to me. This was the first flywheel I had seen in person, but judging from the pictures in the manual it looked fine. no scorch marks, discoloring or grooves or anything of the like. Like i said before I didnt really have the luxury of resurfacing it sooooo Im keeping my fingers crossed

    Good job doing it yourself.

Everything I know about working on trucks is out of necessity from driving shitty vehicles, abusing them, then not having the money to pay somebody to fix it... :D

Story of my teenage years right there.

ok so I had the transmission back on this morning. Felt like i forgot something so i kind of putzed around and found that the release lever that controls teh throwout bearing was stuck in one place. I finally got it to move bt it was all over the place. I took the transmission off again.... and im pretty sure i installed the bearing to the release lever wrong. i might have it right now but there isnt any resistance puching the bearing backwards once the lever pushes it forwards.(if that makes sense). Is there supposed to be back resistance created by the retainer clip that holds the bearing to the lever? or is the pressure created once i put everything back together? Heres some pictures of how I have it now it would be great if someone could tell me if this is right.

well I had the retained clip turned upside down from how it is in the pictures. and then the throw out bearing was upside down as well. The clip fit into the lever better that way and gave good back pressure on the lever from the bearing. but from the pictures in the haynes I needed the longer part of the bearing towards the clutch assembly...

It almost feels like the bearing is going to fall off the lever if i leave it like this. but if there is pressure coming from the clutch assembely then i think itl be fine. Im just not sure how everythign works still

the bearing on my truck (chevy) was held pretty solid but the bearing on my civic felt like it was gonna fall off but there should be tension on it when its back together.
