My Daddywagon

1985 Ford LTD midsize. It was the successor to the Ford Fairmont wagon. One of a couple of vehicle models, including the mustang, which were built on the same Ford fox chassis.

 

This is awesome. What kind of condition is the interior in?

 

I love everything about this

 

The interior is in good stock condition with the exception of me cutting a hole in the floor for the shifter.

 

I bought a 1993 mustang lx 5.0, 5 speed.

 

My HOA would shit...

 

Maybe someday I will have a garage. Until then it's me, the driveway, and my neighbors!

I'd try to find a way to let you do it within the rules of the deed restrictions because it's super cool! We have a guy rebuilding an '80s Fiat Spider within the confines of his garage...perfectly legal.

 

Well thank you! I am upset with myself that it is taking so long, although the very recent acquisition of my new-to-me mustang has given me a new sense of direction. Basically, I am just gonna get it running and driving. The 5.0 will suffice while I have my 351 windsor built.

I mounted up some tires at work in a different size. I'm going with 225/50r17. I had to cut the front wheel studs almost half an inch to accomodate the eibach spacers. The spacers work great but the factory studs stuck out from the spacers and made contact with the wheel surface. These crown vic steelies are ideally suited for the rear but up front they contact the calipers if I don't run spacers.

 

I plastidipped 2 of the rims to see if I want to powder coat them.

 

I think they look good white but black is more sleeper style to me

 

That's exactly what I was thinking. I think the white turned down a little would look good. My brother suggested brown for the wheels. Which leads me to a nice bronze possibly?

 

I agree, the white stands out a bit too much. But bronze would be interesting!

 

Alright. After years of staring at this thing I am finally going after it. I worked on it again today. There is just a lot of little things. Sorting out the wiring and the plumbing is the final obstacle really. I was delaying over the past couple of years because I wanted that 351 in there. But after driving my 1993 lx I just want to drive the wagon the same way.

My dad drove a fairmont when I was a kid, I would of loved to have a sleeper fairmont to show up at school.
I stole it when I was 15 and blew the tranny.
