So by being a fox body, the whole dash swaps over?
I guess I never thought THAT deeply about it but seems like it would. So then Thunderbird would also? Or is the square T-Bird (Fairmont or maybe Granada) the only switch over? Kinda weird because the the gen. change on T-Bird didn't jive up with Mustangs. I don't think.....didn't Tbird change '83 and Mustangs '79?

Yes! T-bird fox dash will swap over. The wagon dash looks almost exactly like the turbo coupe dash. However the aftermarket only caters to the fox mustangs. Gauge cages, replacement parts, digital clusters, center consoles with cup holders, etc. I’m sure I could make do and buy a generic shift boot and change a gear to make the speedo accurate, but why when the mustang dash will bolt right up.

Cool build. I saw a Fox Body Lincoln Mark VII like this once. The old Fox bodies look like a lot of fun.

The Daddywagon finally made it to the new job. I drove it there and back 3 days this week. The commute is 32 miles each way. So that’s 64 miles per day. I got 15 miles per gallon according to my calculations. That is about the same as my Tacoma.

The Mommy-mobile needed a transmission. That’s why it was only $1000 on craigslist. So I bought a transmission for $100 off of craigslist as well. I drove it to work today and it works!!

I still feel this way. I am gonna try and drive it 140 miles each way to the All Ford Nationals in Carlisle, Pa. tomorrow. When I get there I’m gonna register for the showfield and walk around! Wish me luck!

The ride was all turnpike. I’ll just say we made good time...
The Daddywagon drew a lot of positive feedabck.

Thanks! I am constantly thinking of things I want for the car and addressing wear and tear. The mustang dash and console are next. While I was at the Ford Nationals I bought a 160 mph dash cluster. I’m hoping it is completely functional.

Not liking where the speedo needle is sitting at rest. This was necessary because the dash and console are out of a 4 cylinder with an 85 mph cluster.

85!?! My old Olds had an 85 MPH speedo and I used to have to talk friends into racing me on the highway so I would know how fast I was going. They stopped when we were consistently topping 120. Pussies.

    Good mod.

Thanks Cap! After this weekend I want to clean this car up inside and out. It’s an awesome driver but I would like to push it a little more towards a show car. Not completely but cosmetically it could be so much more.

Just checked and it’s a no go. The calipers are much bigger because of the two additional outboard pistons. Currently there is between .5 and .75 inches of clearance between the caliper and wheel depending upon where it’s measured, but even that does not cover the width of the brembos. I am running longer wheel studs with 1/2 inch hub centric spacers. I am hopeful that 3/4 inch spacers will do the trick. I don’t like the 1 inch spacers with the studs built into them. I don’t like them because I had the Eibach versions of them and studs were failing on both sides of the car.

The cobra brake caliper is in the foreground. In the background I put the brembo caliper over the rotor and you can see how much further the caliper sticks out.
