Remember earlier when I said a stock cobra exhaust would be ideal for that silent but deadly attack? Well I found a stock exhaust that was removed at around 7000 miles on craigslist. Picked it up today. Obviously this isn't going to be a simple bolt in proposition, but if the car ends up quiet, I'll be happy. Don't worry. Electric cutouts are on the list.

I bought solid front differential mount bushings with the hope that I can set pinion angle so that the driveshaft moves backwards a little from the transmission. Also I'm going to try and restore my old cobra r rims. I will be giving up a little of that sleeper look for wide 17x9 rims with the wide rubber that comes with it!

There is no replacement for displacement! First generation lightning engine for the Daddywagon! I am psyched! Now I need a whole list of parts to complete a 351 swap!

It takes more money and more parts to do a 351 swap in a fox body mustang than you might think. A 351 is basically a 302 with a taller deck height, so you wouldn't think it takes much to swap to the bigger engine. Well there is a list of parts that will total around $1000 if purchased new, not including the cost of the engine itself! Ugh! I bought some of those parts and the engine I bought has performance roller rockers! Still need more for the 351 swap, particularly because I'm trying to keep everything under the stock hood line.

Thank you all! Still plugging away at this. It's looking more and more like I will have to do a wrenching vacation just like last year. Since me and the family already did a winter Disney vacation, and will probably only do a weekend or two at the shore, I might have the vacation time to spare!

Well the Tacoma has been instrumental throughout this whole process of buying parts for the daddywagon from all of the surrounding areas! It was instrumental recently in the removal of parts as well! This trip was a little overdue, but the trailer was borrowed after my coworker FINALLY made it available to me (he had a packard sitting on it for the better part of a year).

Well, this is how it goes for me; I work overtime and buy parts every pay day. Now I have to come up with the time to wrench. Arriving this week are the k-member spacers to try to fit the 351 under the stock hood. Also a crank pulley spacer for proper accessory alignment. And finally the exhaust headers to adapt the 351 Windsor to the foxbody exhaust system. As soon as the headers arrive I will post pics of the new pieces.

OK. I bought a lightning engine because of the better cylinder heads and the block is roller cam compatible. When I found the roller rockers under the valve covers I was hopeful that this engine was converted to roller cam already. It isn't. I removed the intake so I could find out by looking in the lifter valley, and broke an intake bolt which threads into a cylinder head. Hopefully I will be able to remove it! The block casting shows it is a roller cam block. I will just have to convert it to roller cam myself.

Arriving this week are the crankshaft pulley spacer for proper accessory alignment, k-member spacers to try and keep this engine under the stock hood line, and the bbk ceramic coated shorty swap headers necessary to mate a 351 with a foxbody mustang exhaust system. I am proud to say not a dime of this build is on credit. I work overtime, and then I buy parts. I am trying for a promotion at work, but if I get the promotion and go to the other side of the desk I lose ot. Basically a pay cut despite a small increase in base salary. Small rant over.
