    Hey everyone,

I just got a new Tacoma this weekend. 2008 PreRunner; I'm really excited. I've never had a truck before and can't wait to make it my own! I've got a quick question and there's a probably other threads on this but, what are some truck caps you guys recommend and what are the expected prices of them? Thanks everyone!

Welcome from Oklahoma. Are you looking for a new or used cap? I bought mine used for $400. There are plenty of used ones here at great prices. I never priced out a new one.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Welcome from Buffalo. Any 6' cap will work. I especially like the cheap $50 or FREE caps; they are out there. You'll need clamps. Buy what looks good to you.

Got mine used for $1000 w/ the roof rack.
In case you are thinking used:
Not all 6' caps will fit right, should be specific for 05' to current tacoma
Reg cab cap is diff from Access Cab and Double Cab due to andgle of back window.

I'll most likely get a used cap. Is there much difference between a leer and snugtop or any other brands that are better than the other?

I've got an ARE MX Series. I like the mid-rise because it gives you a little extra head room inside and is especially nice if you plan on sleeping back there. Used is the way to go if you can find one. New, the cheapest I've seen around here is $1,000 for a basic LEER 100R and the prices go up quickly from there.
