If @Kwikvette wanted to start bending tubes and fabricating shit with me, I'd probably buy Bend Tech Pro today. :boink:

If you're going full race car I'd give some consideration to moving the radiator to the rear. You get an increased cooling capacity from a larger radiator and dual or triple fans for redundancy, it also makes the engine easier to service in the field and the engine cage a little less complicated.

Kartek sells aluminum water lines to relocate the radiator (https://www.kartek.com/parts-categories/water-lines.html)

Im excited to see the projects moving along so fast! Let me know if you need help wrenching I'm happy to come hang out for the day

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

I'm not sure this thing is going to make it to full race. I want to make the bones of it race ready. I.E. cage, underlying reinforcements etc. But I'm torn on going full retard on this thing.

Fuel Cell in the back takes up cargo space, and I'm not sure I can get it smogged with a fuel cell (they are technically illegal in CA, as with relocating the tank).
Rear rad would further complicate that.
Spare in the back cargo area would make that even worse.

I think I'm going to get this thing to a point where it's still a serviceable, street legal(ish) trail rig and then decide how much more gonzo I want to go.

But then... There's... I can't 4 link it without moving the gas tank. And I don't really want to 3 link it.

The fuel cell is a whole other can of worms, once you got that route you might as well budget for a trailer. This guy claims to be using a factory fuel system hooked up to an aftermarket fuel cell and passes smog this way but I feel like it'd be a headache every time.

If you have the factory fuel system and have an auxiliary tank that feeds the original tank, that is legal in CA.

Your (main) tank can not be relocated or replaced with anything other than original. but you can add another tank.

Yeah I have the feeling his smog tests cost a couple hundred bucks more than everyone else's.

If I could find a smog shop like that, I would do a lot of things differently.

Back when I was into drifting there was a funny thread from a guy who slipped the smog tech some cash with his keys and the dude took the money and still failed him. Ever since then Ive been afraid to try it.

Stopped by Yota1 today and picked up a bunch of things for replacing the timing belt. Was waiting for my buddy @Pella to show up, so I got to hang out and chat with Nick (owner) for a while.

It's really cool being so close to a really outstanding Toyota shop.

Josh (Pella) and his son picked up a 79-85 front axle and ordered the SA swap (front) kit, and 63s swap (rear) kit for Josh's son's 2nd Gen 4 Runner.

Looks like I will, actually, be doing a SAS project... just not on one of my trucks

Got the rig in to the garage today. Started a bit of disassembly.

    Agenda for tomorrow (hopefully):
Remove the front shocks and bumpstops, mount a 37 and start cutting the firewall.

Articulate the rear past full bump with 37 and start cutting.
