Hi, name is Josh. In Seattle.
I don't have a Tacoma anymore, but I did. A year ago My wife gave birth and I had to get a car. Now I'm missing my truck. I've been planning on getting a new Tacoma soon, but not too soon. I'm not sure when exactly. I've enjoyed reading some of the posts here and figured I'd register in case I have questions.
    The truck i did have:
1999 2WD SR5 extended cab/bed. Cruise Control, but no power windows or locks. 2.0L I4, no special mods except K&N air filter.
She had about 90k on her when I traded in....

I loved that truck becuase I could load the bed with wood or whatever for a camping trip and it never seemed to show a loss in power..It charged like a champ. It also wasted a lot of 4X4's in the snow.. I took it over a steep mountain pass in a foot of snow and a blizzard with 30 feet visibility..never slipped or spun, drove right on by the 4X4's stuck on the side of the road in ditches. Never even used the chains...they were sitting behind me in the back.

Thats my love affair. My guilty pleasure.. The Toyota Tacoma.

One thing I did notice, everyone I've talked to with the same type of truck I had got low 20's for gas mileage.... My tacoma never got under 28MPG and topped 34MPG on freeways during road trips...even loaded down. Until recently, I thought all I4 Tacomas got relatively the same as me... weird.

    Welcome to TacomaWorld.

The new Tacomas are bigger, heavier and more powerful than your old one. If Toyota would go back to making SMALL trucks again I bet they'd sell like hot cakes!

Yeah I agree, I think the taco's are too big right now. It's more of a full size then it is a compact PU in my opinion. I wanted something a bit smaller, but I wasn't going to get something besides a taco. They are badass trucks!
