After searching for my new Gen 3 for a few months and only seeing one or two in the West, I realized finding one equipped to my specs wasn't going to happen quickly. Sure, I could have waited longer, ordered one, or compromised, but what's the adventure in that? So, when the next one popped up, in Spokane WA of all places, I jumped on it. Flew from San Francisco to Spokane with my youngest son (15), bought it, then... Road Trip!! Enjoyed the sights, stopped at my college (Oregon State), and got back to SF last night. Total: 1000 miles. Great sights and bonding - with my son and with the truck. It was a blast.

My specs? Off-Road, Manual, Premium, White. Didn't seem that obscure to me...

This is my second Tacoma. Already have picked out wheels, lift, sliders, etc, but will get to know it "as-is" for a bit first.

Congrats on the new truck! Manual is the best transmission hands down so props for that.

    Congrats!

I took a Greyhound up to Boston, then a train into the burbs to pick my truck up. I didn't have anybody to bond with for the ride home, but there was at least one person's BO that bonded with me along the way. Lost my first windshield on the way home, too.

Hell yeah! Great experience for both you guys...Truck looks awesome btw. I do like a white truck when done "properly" with lift, black wheels and beefy rubber!

Congrats, I kind of had a similar story but instead I bought it in my hometown after getting my Subaru back from the shop after a bear wreck and then drove back to work with my brother. Only 540 miles too. Nice you were able to take that trip with your son. Definitely going to be a memorable trip for him and you.
