Excellent job on the trailer. Do you have a way to stabilize the trailer when the tent is up or are you just leaving it attached to the truck?

Love the trailer but please cross your safety chains. The law in some states.

Normally we would, but the chains are almost too short to even reach as it is. We need to have somebody make some new ones and put the original hooks on the new chain. We're really trying to keep all the components original.....modified, but original, lol. I said the same thing to my dad when we built it. I was like, "uh, these chains aren't long enough to cross". Just one of those small details we forgot to work out. I think it is the law here in TX

Very nice trailer. Currently building a US m101a1 trailer for camping. It is a much larger trailer than your 416 but I get inspired by anyone who converts these old beasts. I love the LEDs in the tent. How do you keep the battery charged? I am planning on a nose box for a battery system also. I plan to have several ways to charge the battery or use the electronics I put in and on my trailer. Small solar unit for when it's parked but not being used, a plug in method that will allow me to charge the batteries and run the electronics at the same time from either a generator or house power and direct from the truck while being towed.

Do you have any info/ install pics of the rear bumper on the M416? It's an option i would love to add to mine. Is it a cj/ yj retrofit or a custom job? Trailer looks great btw. How'd it to to Prescott? (with Tacoma) . Sorry for all the ???s
    later,
    mike

It's a custom bumper my dad had made. He wanted something that looked similar (damn near identical, IMO) to his '79 CJ-7 Golden Eagle's rear bumper. The trailer towed great. Fully loaded with the RTT and an 80lbs deep cycle gel battery in the tongue mounted tool box, you barely realize the trailer is even hooked up. Granted, on the hills it's a little more sluggish, but nothing the Tacoma can't handle with a lil extra gas.

    Very nice build, sir!

Is there only one stabilizer or front and back?
I was wondering about leveling it off. Is it even an issue?

No mud flaps, plasti dipped emblems, and rear bumper, Weather tech digital fit, Bed mat from tractor supply. Pioneer 4400BH head unit. B.A.M.F bed rail tie downs. AVS vent visors.
most i see on expedition portal. have front and back. and i think most the time that back are removable so they don’t get messed up off roading.
