We only have a rear stabilizer, because the front leg on the tongue of the trailer acts as the stabilizer for the front. See pic below

Correct, the rear stabilizer bar is not attached in any way to the trailer; its simply placed in the rear, under the frame and as you tighten the lower portions of the legs, it wedges itself under the frame. All it is used for is making sure the trailer doesnt tip backwards while your in the tent. We carry it in the trailer, then when we need it, we pull it out and use it. As stated above, the front is stabilized by the swing down leg on the tongue of the trailer.

    Update

Removed the wheels and tires that matched the jeep and put on matching TRD Sport wheels powdercoated anthracite and the same Duratracs. Also, a few months back we put a "TEXpedition" decal on the trailer lid sides

So, definitely thinking about doing this, just with a different trailer to start out with. However, after a while, it'll look almost exactly the same as this, just different colors lol

Awesome build! :D How much can you carry in that with the coil-overs? I am looking at getting one myself but want to put in a 20 gallon water tank, fridge, my tepui and a very robust solar system with 2 gel batteries. I probably would build up the sides some but wondered if you ever considered a beefier axle to increase the load it would carry?

To answer the axle question, no we have never considered it. We have a 105ah Deka battery in tongue and if box was bigger, I would put another one in there. Solar panel between top of lid and bottom of tent (while travelling) is on the list and weight will not be an issue. Solar controls will go in tongue box. I do carry a yellowtop battery in trailer as a backup.

Right now we carry three 7gal containers of water and ARB frig in back of truck but if we emptied some of the "junk" we carry in the trailer we could probably get most of that in there as well. Axle seems fine but I do know that others change them out for 3500# with electric brakes all the time (check expeditionportal.com) More likely I would get aftermarket lifted springs and shackles for on CJ3 or CJ5 and it would be fine.

We bought it from a guy in Houston TX and he got them from an auction of used items from the forest service. These old trailers are still out there but they are getting in the $1000 range and some of those are not in very good shape. Craigslist for M416 and a sharp eye are the best way to find them.

    Hope this info helps.

Which axel did you swap? I want to run toyota wheels on my t3-c but I still need to do an axel swap.
