Yes, sales tax sux!!! But I wasn't about to be penny-wise & pound-foolish. You just don't see too many gen1 Tacos out there with this low of miles. And the fact that it was configured exactly like what I was planning to order a 2012 in (ie, white, 4x4, access cab, 2.7, 5spd) sealed the deal 100%. I knew the second I saw it when I pulled up that I wanted it. Then when I test drove it (alone, he just gave me the keys and said "go"... I drove it some 20 miles... was gone for about 30 minutes) I knew I was going to buy it. Just a matter of settling on a price. I tried to get it for $15,000 out the door and we settled on $15,500. Like I said, I am very happy. Besides I really do like the gen1 "compact truck" platform better than the mid-side of the gen2s. Not that I don't like the gen2s too... but I have just always had a thing for small trucks. Have owned several in my day... plan on keeping this one for a very, very long time!!!!!!!!!:D

    Ha!!! :)

Mods won't be too extensive as it'll mostly be on daily driving and light off-road/camping duty.

    Plans are:

    • 5100s
    • taillight guards to match the grill guard
    • paint the stock wheels black
    • add tow hitch
Nothing crazy. No superchargers, no 6" lifts w/ 35s, no million watt stereos.... :) I try to keep things simple. So that's about it (unless there is some "must do" gen1 mod that I should know about).
