I just came back from the shop where they installed my new URD stage 2 clutch, the URD short shifter and the accumulator delete. I also had my front brakes/rotors changed since they were shot. Truck has 49.7k miles on it and my clutch was fried.

So far I have about 5 miles on this setup and what a huge difference it makes. Since I had so many changes done I’m not sure what is attributing to what but the truck feels much much better. I should have had the short shifter installed the first day that I’ve owned it. The clutch feels more stiff and putting it into first gear is like putting it into any other gear (you don’t have to force it and the truck doesn’t jerk while putting it in first).

I had to re-learn in the first few miles how to drive this truck again because of the short shifter.

Definitely a worth while upgrade. Let me know if anybody wants the name of the shop that did this for me...they sort of specialize in modding cars (they even have a dyno machine).

I know people will ask me what I paid for all the labor and parts so here is the break down:

install clutch (I bought clutch myself)
    Resurface fly wheel
Install short shifter (I bought short shifter myself)
Install accumulator delete mod (I bought this myself)
New oil sensor since my went
    New front pads and rotors
Change random bolts on the exhaust since they were rusty (they used marine grade steel so it wouldn’t rust)
Total paid to shop was ~$2100.

nice. glad you like. i have all that but my URD stg2 is going in at 60k when I'm doing full fluids and everything. i spent the last couple years on the URD SS, just upgraded to a Core shifter. that's another level... maybe 2 up!

yes, really looking forward to the new clutch myself.

Very nice. Looking forward to buying the URD Stage 2 as well. I’ve heard people going with the heavier flywheel. Is that really necessary though? Seems like the stock one would work fine. I’m considering doing the install myself.

Took me a long full day to change the clutch in my brothers 91 2WD 22re Pickup, I’m guessing this will take the same amount of time if not a little longer.

I’m at 53,500 miles and I’m not a fan of how the truck feels at 4-6th gears. Down low it still grabs, but I’m sensing it’s going to go by 75k, but really just depends on how I drive it :p

I probably should have bought the fly wheel as well. The shop had to resurface mine.

The clutch is finally wearing in so it feels much much better. At first I noticed a little bit of slipping when going into first but I think it's because it hasn't been worn in.

I'm not sure what to take a pic of lol. The whole short shifter mechanism is under the stock shifter boot.

No OVTune!? If not you definitely should consider it. Especially the 2.0 test files, they’re money

Especially if he's running 04B10.. that calibration was garbage IMO.

I'd definitely try upgrading to OEM 04B13 (free) before purchasing OVtune though...

Edit: Here's the thread for flashing Toyota OEM files for the M/T:

Thanks guys. I’ll definitely look into the OVtune. I just didn’t want to change too many things at once in case something went wrong and then it would be nearly impossible to pinpoint the issue. I was scared changing three things at once (clutch, ss and accumulator delete)

Understandable. Even if you don't get OVTune, you should definitely do or get done the TSB.
