Toyota has lots of "required maintenance". I dont think any long term damage was done with me leaving them in for 95,000 miles. Should I have changed them earlier, yes. Will i change them at 30k? No. Probably 50-60k. The only "required" maintenance my truck needs is gasoline in the tank. I dont believe in Toyota and their requirements on such things. I think they are looking to make a buck on their parts and labor. Some things are more iffy than others. But I plan on keeping this truck for 10 years. So, I will do whats needed to get by and still have a running truck. I dont go off-road or race the 18yr old kid down the street, so as long as there is no visible notice to me or long term effects from my maintenance or lack of, Toyota can keep their "required maintenance" schedule.

hmm spark plugs on my 2.7 are scheduled at 100,000km (~60,000 miles)

just curious, do the coil packs ever need to be replaced on a regular basis?

Nobody is certain why Toyota uses NGK on one side and Denso plugs on the other side of the 1GR-FE motor. It is a mystery that only Toyota can answer.

I don't think it matters too much which brand you use. Check what the dealer has in their inventories. I believe they'll sell them at a reasonable price too. I think what matters most is to swap them at the recommended maintenance intervals.

I'd go with Denso after seeing the pics in this thread.
