    Well P,
Hope the Icons work out for you. I know how frustrated you've been, so hopefully this will be the solution. Best of luck.

I have had a customer with an 07 Tacoma 2wd Prerunner and he had the same clunk but on the driver side. It ended up being the motor mount was cracked at the frame where its welded and Toyota put a whole new frame underneath it. It was visible by looking underneath the truck. Dont know if this is it????

    It sounds like “top out”
When the suspension reaches full extension it has to stop. There is still residual energy in the spring and velocity in the wheel and spindle as well as more mass from larger tires and rims.
Worst case scenario is the upper arm hits the coil and the ball joint binds.
What we do is incorporate a full extension damper inside the shock to absorb this energy and precisely control the extended position of the suspension so arms don’t hit coils and ball joints and CV’s don’t bind yet still get the maximum travel possible.
Many other race shocks go metal to metal when they fully extend. This is not only noisy but harsh on components. This could be why many of you have had the noise reduced by lowering your suspension…you now have less energy and more distance to slow it down so less clunk.

hmmm ....I have the noise we were talking about on level ground mostly when turning the wheel right, backing up then pulling forward. Happens more frequently when raining and a day or so after raining......

Sounds good! I thought your Icons had reservoirs already. Anyways, if you get them and want some help, head down to the SCMD3 on Saturday.
