My Truck Came in!!! But it's Wrong

Yep. It's either that or the dealer just wants to sell something already on the lot.

 

Have you considered contacting Toyota corporate? I'm guessing if you went at it something to the effect of "hey, I ordered this truck months ago. My last truck is on its last legs, but I've been nursing it along waiting for this truck I ordered to come in. Dealer now says Toyota built it the wrong way. I am not happy and found a Chevy Colorado in the configuration I want, and may have to go that way because I'm just not able to wait much longer."

I imagine they will find out what really happened. If Toyota screwed up, maybe they'll make it right by getting you what you want quickly. If the dealer screwed up, that can't be a good thing for the dealer.

Or maybe they won't give a shit. But possibly worth a shot?

 

I ordered another today, from a different dealer. Not going to bother with Toyota corporate. Going to be optimistic and hope I wait less than 6 weeks this time.

What really sucks is that there are 2 of the exact trucks you are looking for here in California. Nobody in California drives a manual anymore. They'll probably sit there for a while.
