So, went to my local dealer to get the Transmission TSB Done. (Or so I thought) After about an hour my truck was returned with the following expectation of the service preformed. "Reset Transmission memory Taken for test drive customer to monitor for further problems" When I asked for clarification I was told that my driving style has taught my truck a bad shift habit. (Some how I didn't think driving on the highway in a responsible manor is a bad thing) Can anybody offer any suggestion of what if anything went wrong with my truck or maybe insight into if the dealer even fixed anything?

    Build thread in sig...
my dad's lexus sedan did that. we had it reset twice and it kept "learning" to shift hard, becasue my pops accelerates fast. we had the dealership reset it a third time and then my mom drove it for a month without him touching it. it learned her driving style and hasn't been shifting hard for my dad since.

i didn't know our trucks did that though

^^Yea, the ECU learns your driving style and shifts accordingly. I think all the new models are like that.

dont quote me im no expert nor do i know the details, but the computer in our truck does learn your driving habits and tweak some aspects of how the engine and transmission run an react to ur inputs. I have no idea what aspects it will change in responce to what it learns just that it can adapt to how u drive

If you unhook the battery for more than 30 minutes it will reset and then start the learning over.

My dealer did the same thing when I went in for TSB and told me my truck didn't qualify. Good thing is they also scratched my truck in the process.

All the 5 speed autos in the second gen are like that. If you look in the brochure it says 5 speed auto with ECT-I. I'm not sure exactly what the ECT-I means but was told by the dealership that the transmission learns your driving styles and shift accordingly to help prevent transmission slippage and failure as was stated above.

FWIW I think only the 2010s qualify for the TSB

I'm guessing something like "electronically controlled transmission with intelligence". You've got the basic gist of it.

Maybe it "learns" too much. This could be the reason for all the SUA shit going on. The vehicles "learn" then want to use the mind of their own and do whatever they feel like. Maybe the SUA is just the vehicle pulling a prank on the humans.
