I have an mapecu3. It was really easy to get a baseline. I just did street pulls with it while logging.

Boomslang also makes patch harnesses. Not sure what their lead time is though. I have a feeling that you've already paid for the current one.

Well that narrows it down to one then. Nothing simple starts that way.

Placed an order through our supplier for a MAP ECU last week and just got word today that they no longer carry them. Been driving the truck, have 400 miles on it with the turbo kit without the intercooler.

Work picked up dramatically so I haven't had a chance to start fabbing the intercooler pipes, but I have all of the materials sitting there waiting ever so patiently for me.

Interesting dilema with the Map3. Sucks.

Clearly it is driving well. I'll bet the acceleration is a noticeable amount better, with the boost gauge at atmosphere.

While waiting on the MAP ECU to come in.... still enjoying the truck without a single issue!

Yessir! The tacoma was the only thing I owned, and my first car ever, that wasn't boosted.

Would have been sacrilege not to boost it. ;)

What's the word on the Map3?

Same here. Just have to wait a bit longer then I'll start gathering all the parts needed for this kit. Used to drive a DSM and always had a Evo in the garage. Both cars were since sold and now I can't deal with having to downshift into 3rd to go through the overpass were I live by.

What injectors are you planning on running?

Well, finally got the MAP ECU 3 in the mail but still been too busy at work to work on the truck. I noticed an oil leak coming from the oil return line supplied with the kit, so I went ahead and made my own and extended it slightly to allow for better fitment. It was leaking oil from both ends; garbage. If I were to do it all over again I'd just buy their manifold and build the rest.

Started working on the basemap for the truck:

Not sure yet, depends on which route I decide to go with the truck. I am planning on putting together a different turbo setup than the T28 that came with the kit and I will decide on the injector sizing then. Part of me wants to keep it mild, the other part wants to let it party.

Is the ecu a plug in or do you have to rewrite the whole harness?
