Being that it is a tubular header and the only one "easily" available for the 2TR, I had mentioned the same thing about just buying that one part in another thread. IMO, it is too cheaply priced a kit overall, to have enough quality components.

    GTX28 or Gtx30???? ;)

I'm not to sure if the 2tr can handle the gtx30 haha. Maybe don't think it's been done on one of these

High probabilityof not being done before. To many people with Tacomas shun the idea of performance. It takes a person with the right combination of skill sets, desires, and funds to make that come together.

Such as the OP. I bet his truck will end up making good power, and run for a very long time, based off of his skill. Thus impressing who disregard its capabilities. To bad he didn't come around to do this build 6-8 years ago, or I bet the mass today would have a different view of it.

Exactly very well said. The majority will say why bother with a car that wasn't made for high performance. So when the question gets asked regarding anything to do with performance everyone says you bought the wrong car or to go buy an Evo or something of that sort. I'm 100% sure the OP can make it happen. I'm going to be doing the same pretty soon.

What better than a high performance Tacoma??

It's a T25 flange, easy to weld a T3 on though. For the map ecu it has to be wired into the harness. Not bad.

The time has come, wired in the MAP ECU today after getting back from a small vacation, [IMG]

Everything works as it should, I'll start logging and tuning tomorrow on the way to work.

Would this be better for offroading then supercharged? I've been looking at future projects like this or getting the trd supercharger. Want a "little" extra power for the trails or maybe if I need to get into a little street race!

    Very nice and tidy installation.

Have you ever tuned on a Map-Ecu?

Thank you. I have tuned many MAP ECUs in my time, but way back when rainbows were black and white and they were still on their first version. I've setup quite a few 2JZ applications back then with the MAP ECU 1, and a few of the 2nd version.

I am waiting for the AFR Calibrator box to show up, I ended up finding out the hard way that I do need it when the truck was not letting me tune closed loop this morning on the way to work. womp womp. I should have it this week for some tuning this weekend!

Most of my friends think I am crazy for doing this to the truck. I was reminded yesterday that I literally ONLY bought the truck so I can modify my daily driver and have an extra (practical) car to drive.

Life is too short to drive boring cars! I am just trying to have fun with my truck. :taco:

    I just saw this.

While most of the kit is junk, I did buy it knowing that but figured it would be a good starting point, and it was. I hope to post all of my findings on here to help others who are about as bored as I was with their 2TR-FE trucks. The thought crossed my mind on going supercharged, but c'mon..... supercharging isn't as cool as a sweet turbo setup!

I bet that motor boogies just like the 2-3rz motors on some boost. I almost went the gt2871 route for the good response. Turbo is more fun on a 4 cyl anyways

There isn't much that's stock anymore
Hi there I was going to buy this kit tonight but I'm just wondering if you think I really should just buy the exhaust and turbo manifold from them and then build my own kit. I don't mind doing that but if this kit can bolt on then I'll buy it tonight. Thanks

Also is this using the stock intake maifold? I see the exhaust manifold it comes with but it looks like the intake is the same?

Is buying just the manifold an option? I didn't notice that on their website.

They do offer the manifold alone, and they also list it on ebay as well. I recommend going this route if you have the ability to make your own piping.
